For now Ive built my 9mm AR as a pistol, not SBR. this thing runs great! it uses my glock 19 magazines and i have several 33rd mags too. upper is a 4" barrel with 2" flash can. 6" keymod rail covers the whole thing.

Very nice Martin!!

I really like the looks of that lower. I am guessing much lighter than mine from Lonewolf.

@1974FJ Martin, what was the motivation for this? I'm not knocking it in the least, but a 9mm out of only a 6" barrel in a gun that large has me wondering. Of course, "fun" is an acceptable answer.

Fun....extremely fun! hah
I wanted to build it for several reasons. Its a unique platform that was fun to research and build. it uses an affordable/accessible round that i already shoot with my 9mm pistols. it has a glock mag-well that i can use with my Glock 19, this is unique to AR 9mm pistols. I wouldn't otherwise mount a scope/red dot to my glock 19. Having a small rifle-like pistol is so easy to shoot accurately with the buffer tube stabilized on your cheek.

Built me a couple longer range shooters...hope to get out to the range soon and see what type of accuracy I can get.

260 Remington bolt gun
- Defiance Rebel action (Remington 700 S/A clone with an extended tenon)
- Defiance Machine bottom metal
- Brux barrel: 26" finished length SS 1:8.5 twist #5 fluted
- Jewel HVRTS-A trigger
- Bell and Carlson Tactical A5 stock
- Nightforce NXS 5.5-22x50 NPR-1 w/Zerostop
- Seekins 4/6 scope rings

LR308 Gasser
- Mega Arms MATEN Megalithic upper/lower combo
- Rainer Arms Match barrel 20" 1:10 twist
- Magpul UBR stock
- JP Enterprises low mass chrome carrier and JP enhanced bolt
- JP muzzle brake
- Heavy buffers carbine buffer and spring
- CMMG lower parts
- Geissele SSA-E trigger
- Viper Vortex PST 2.5-10-32
- ADM Recon SL mount (pictured with the Recon but returned for the lower height mount)

Now...on to some pics!!

I will add a couple of my reasons as well since I am have been butting in a bit:

9MM is a good round for subsonic and mated with a suppressor it is nice and quiet. Standard rounds are like 124grain and 1200 fps, so going up to like ~140gr and dropping below 1125 fps and the sound barrier isn't hard to accommodate.

Longest 9MM Glock available in OEM form is a 17L at ~6" - so a short barrel is not an issue for the ballistics of the bullet/gun if you don't mind handgun range to begin with.

Wife didn't feel comfortable shooting/handling a handgun, so wanted to get something she could feel better about. Add a EoTech red dot and it is the perfect thing for her.

One downside is my Lone Wolf is kinda heavy compared to my 300 BLK :(. They are also over priced imho as a lot as not many are yet made, etc.

Its also a fairly "clean" gun compared to my 300BLK - not nearly the gas pushing into the bolt/chamber like typical Direct Inpingement AR's.

Specs:
  • Lone Wolf AR9 (G9)
  • 7.5" Barrel
  • TiRANT 9MM Suppressor
  • Sig Brace
  • EOTech XPS2

Martin, is there a reason to delete the bolt catch? mine does not hold open when the mag is empty, but it will hold the bolt open when I want it to..

My 21yr old G19 finally had the tritium sights go dark. They've been fading for years, I confirmed they were dead before Thanksgiving. Since Santa stiffed me, I had to find a good after-Christmas sale to take care of my daily carry. Being at the age where progressive lens glasses are needed to see things up close, tilting the head back far enough to see the front sight makes for awkward shooting. I have some shooting glasses made with the bi-focal line to just my sight-line but...not something one wears daily.

So, since an upgrade was necessary, might as well go big...Trijicon RMR Dual illumination with amber 12.9 MOA triangle. I thought about sending the slide out for machining (like the new MOS) but didn't want to modify the old girl beyond OEM original. So, I used the Trijicon dovetail mount over less expensive mounts just because I like keeping like systems together. The dovetail mount is very tight and includes set screws to increase secure mounting to the slide.

Now, I need to find a new holster since my IWB Alessi doesn't allow it. I might have found something for my Henry too but need to get it mounted. Sighting in trip this weekend...

Updated final birthday/Christmas gifts to myself...Henry Carbine 45 Colt. My goal is to have a guide/truck rifle (I won't insult the memory of Jeff Cooper and call it a "scout" rifle), something I can use and travel with while camping/expeditions. Although I could put shots within 8 MOA freehand @ 100 yards with the buckhorn sights, it took great concentration to do so. Not ideal.

Installed Leupold FXII 2.5x28mm IER Scout scope on the Henry weaver mount and Burris Z low rings. Really is amazing how well that magnification helps and target acquisition is obviously much easier, only added 8 oz for the whole system and buckhorn sights fit under easily under the low mount rings. Couldn't be more pleased with the set up, 2 things to sight in this weekend...

I have a similar setup but on a scout style mount on a Browning lightweight takedown BLR in .450 Marlin. It is one heck of a truck rifle.

Actually took my last elk with it.

Did you have to drill to mount that scope? I have a Henry 22 with a similar mount and it's got to be drilled to mount a scope. Which is why I've basically put it off..

I would check out the Incog's from G-code. I have 4 of them and love those holsters. Made in good ole NC as well.

I have a couple of Colt Cobra wheelies in very, very good condition I'm looking to trade if there is any interest. Looking for a Colt 1911, other Colt Wheelies or trade towards a truck.

Selling my Remington 700 Black Synthetic stock .270 Cal. Rifle. Has a Nikon Buck Master Scope on it. Will include several boxes of ammo I have and a 2 gun hard case. This has been a great rifle and has killed many deer.

Asking $300.00 currently located in Morehead City can easily get to Raleigh area.

I am thinking I need a paint ball gun...................

So anyway, last night our 3 geldings decided that knocking down the corral panels off the shed the sick mare is in while their paddock is being worked on was a good idea. 3 idiot horses trying to corner and kick the crap out of a small sick mare. I wanted to shoot them. But, well, you know, I can't. So I ask Heather if bird shot from all the way across the paddock would penetrate their hide. Probably, damn.

Sooo, Heather being Heather suggested I get a paint ball gun...... Hey, great idea! But I am the type that really has to justify something. So what else would I do with said paint ball gun. Had a neighbor in the Keys that shot at the raccoons with his, Max keeps them away, damn. Once again, Heather comes through, shoot at the cars and trucks that drive on our front lawn all the time out by the main road.

The legalities of it came up first, what is Chuck Wright (Spartanburg County Sheriff) going to say? If it is something like a $20 fine, SIGN ME UP!! My next question, is that per shot or per incident? Per indecent you say? Can I open an account with the Sheriff's office? Here's $200, that'll get me started!!

So, how far can a paint ball gun shoot with accuracy? :)

Not sure - only played once and it was probably with a crappy gun. Maybe 40 yards?
