I bought a used shield from Fuquay Gun and Gold for $335. I told the salesperson I wasn't interested in the 7+1 mag so he gave me two 8+1 mags.
anyone have an lonely shotgun like a remi 870 or a moss 500 laying around that they might part with on the cheap? looking for something I can shoot some clays with.
I can't help you with the shotgun but I am curious where you are shooting clays. I've been to Drake Landing a half dozen times.
i few of us were talking about going out to DL one weekend, i sold my shotgun awhile back, figured it was time to look for another if i want to go, don't think my single shot would be to fun.
I've only been a few times but I'd look at a double barrel or semi-auto before a pump if clays are the plan. If we set up something at DL and I can make it you're welcome to try/share my 11-87 and I'm sure some others would share too. They rent shotguns there if there's something else you want to try out.
never been to drakes landing, didn't think about them even renting out guns. I might go that route till i find something. Thanks for the info and the offer.
Eric, I'm not looking to sell it, but you are more than welcome to borrow my Winchester 1300 pump gun. Rarely gets used unless I take someone shooting. Something to have in your hands until you find something to buy.

Thanks Ramon. Depending on when we go to DL might take you up on it.
A trap/skeet gun is also set up different than a field gun. I was shooting a remi 1000 field gun for a bit and bought the then new Remi 1000 competition, trap gun. Big difference in performance. The pump or single shot will only be an issue if shooting doubles or two shot five stand. Most clubs only allow you to load one shell at a time for singles.

Referring to Rice's post above... Read the articles below. Pay close attention to the statements made by Sheriff Brooks. I especially like "He just looks like a gun hoarder, to be honest with you". I sometimes wish I only had a 3rd grade education and could be sheriff or mayor somewhere.
One article states that they quit counting the guns because there were so many. The other quotes the police as saying "7000 stolen guns". How on earth did they run all the serial numbers so quickly?
Crap police work and crap reporting. We should all be ashamed. World, meet s***.
