Wife went on another trip to the range. The slightly maniacal look gave me a moment of pause but she did have a good time. The bad guy took 25 out of 30 rounds to the red and for good measure she pumped a couple of rounds into his man parts.

^^Nice! I had the magnum Judge once - - that S&W is so much better looking :)

I put a new-style Midwest Industries hand guard on the ArmaLite AR-10B today. I think I am going to sell the whole contraption, though, as I really want to focus on the 300 BLK and would like to get the new 300 BLK reticle in the 4x32 ACOG.

I'd rather be really set up nice for one rifle than have two "similar", both with "half arsed" optics. The 300 BLK with supersonic round is definitely shorter in capable range, but is capable for everything I need to do out to 600 yards.

Went to the Dixie gun show on Saturday to browse around. Found some crazy looking weapons, including a handful of silenced UZIs which I had not seen before. Pretty cool.

I focused on Mosin Nagant stuff as that's my current obsession. I've been itching for a scope for a while and found a scope mount for $20 (online is usually $50 or more). It required me to remove the front sight block, which is pinned and silver soldered onto the dovetail of the barrel. Took the gun apart, removed the pins, heated the section up and removed the front block.

Now all I need to do is choose a scope!!

Just looked at some HEAVY Century Arms 308 and i mean a HEAVY SOB. Not sure of model number as i was in a hurry but i am going to go talk to them again. Too darn heavy for my liking though.

Figured it out. FN/FAL L1A1 sporter.

That stapler looks wicked.

Gave the u s p a workout yesterday. Had a blast at the range

That's an Arrow T50 heavy duty gun. Has a 50 round mag and shoots either steel, stainless, or high dollar Monel ammo. Trigger is double action only and has about a 20 pound push. Thinking of having it blued.

Send it off to Ed Brown for their Gen4 coating. It is supposed to be really good ;)

I'm sure most have heard this already, but the BATF&E came out with new guidance on the Sig Brace. :(

Well, its not outright banned yet, and the "no shouldering" thing was part of the original caveats of the brace. The ATF had to come down on one side or the other, and this is it. However, with the increased attention that has been brought to the brace and its uses, i wouldn't be surprised if it is banned completely at some point:meh:

Do the Form 1 on ATF Online, pay the $200, and 3-4 weeks later, you have the real thing:grinpimp: I need to submit the Form 1 for my SCAR-16 so I can get my 10" barrel on order before they start getting scarce;)

Sam and others, the next two gun match at PHGA is on February 21. Bring an AR/M1A/10-22 whatever rifle platform plus a pistol and go to town. It's roughly 100 rifle rounds and 40 pistol rounds. I pretty much come in last place every time so odds are good you'll beat someone. I have lots of room so if anyone wants to ride with me they can. My brother is going to this one which means it will probably be absolutely ridiculous. As a disclaimer it costs 20$ and I take no responsibility if you get shot...

Progg - I wanted to add two things:

1. If I already have to do the 5320.20 for the 300 BLK, I guess I could just add the 9MM without any additional effort if I ever go out of state hunting or in our move.
2. The SIG Brace is HEAVY - My 10.5" 300 BLK with the Magpul STR stock is so much lighter and better balanced.

Are you using the same lower? The Form 1 is tied to the lower, and if you are just swapping the upper between .300 and 9mm, I think you just do an addendum letter adding the caliber/length to the original Form 1 with no tax stamp IIRC.

This is printed on your Form 1:

"Change of Description or Address: The registrant shall notify the NFA Branch, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, 244 Needy Road, Martinsburg, WV 25405, in writing, of any change to the description of the firearms in item 4, or any change to the address of the registrant."

Some will say that just swapping on an upper, and taking it back off is not a permanent change and no big deal, but why chance it.

Here is an example of what to send:

September 6, 2013

To:
Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives
Attn: National Firearms Act Branch
244 Needy Road, Suite 1250
Martinsburg, WV

RE: Change of description for approved NFA firearm serial number: H0XXXX

Hello – I am sending this letter to notify you (BATF) of a description change to an NFA registered firearm. The Barrel Length has been changed from 11.5” to 12.5”, and the Overall Length has been changed from 31.3” to 32.5”. Please see attached copy of the approved Form 1 for this firearm.

Kindest Regards,

You get the idea, and could put the multiple caliber/lengths in the letter. Better to be safe than in jail:grinpimp:

I wish - No - I bought a dedicated 9MM lower that takes Glock mags - 26 to 17 to 33 rounders. So I would have to register the Lone Wolf lower as a SBR, too.

I only registered the 300 BLK SBR as a 300 BLK because no one told me to trick the Eform into putting multiple calibers - - but I am pretty set with that caliber now, anyway - no idea why I keep buying other stupid stuff like .308 etc :) Wish I would have ran into you about 6 months ago :)

Well, the multiple caliber thing can hold up your EForms, some of the ATF guys will sit on them for a while for some unknown reason. I have a DPMS AR lower that I may convert to SBR, I have a take-off M4 SOCOM heavy barrel upper that I will run on it and add on the 300BK for s***s and giggles for future upgrades.

I wonder if AAC will make the upper for their Honey Badger a stand alone upper? If they don't, Houston Armory will be releasing their 300BK 12" integrally suppressed upper shortly :hmm:

I'm still pretty awful, but I'm getting better. Mosin Nagant 91/30 @ 100 yards with a 2-7x32mm scope. Most of the shots in the white on the right side were due to the scope becoming loose as I mounted the rail improperly :o Live and learn!

If that's the goal, you gotta loose the optic sight :grinpimp: You're still young and with good eyesight, so go that way!

I have not shot at that distance with open sights, but in the past, my best shooting at 500 yards (max range depth on the range I was on at Benning) open sights with a Garand was 24 in a row at an 18" steel plate in moderate wind conditions. That was 12 years or so ago ... I could not see the sights and the target together now :bang:
