CDC is softening it's wording on the transmission potential for surfaces. Their verbiage was "it may be possible" for it to spread on surfaces, now it's "The virus does not spread easily in other ways." The CDC adds: “This is not thought to be the main way the virus spreads, but we are still learning more about this virus.”

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention now says infected surfaces as one of the less common ways that coronavirus spreads. Experts say that doesn't mean you should stop practicing good hygiene.
