I'd probably buy it just because I don't have one either

Or, you can go Frankenstein with one of them…if you suddenly find yourself over run with Coleman Stuff…Anyone have experience with these old Coleman heaters? Thinking about picking one up that looks to be in serviceable shape....I know nothing about them...other than I don’t have one.

I've had one. They're pretty cool. I think I only fired it up in the garage a couple.times.... got it from a friend, never really devised a use for it though...Anyone have experience with these old Coleman heaters? I'm regretting giving mine up now. . . .Went out and picked up that 512 heater. It‘s in great condition and works!...of course there are no moving parts. Never seen one before and not sure where I’ll use it, but I’m the only kid on the block that has one!

Thought about that, but light up is not exactly conducive to deer hunting. These work great for deer hunting because no noise and you can keep your trigger finger warm.
@FrazzledHunter I would go back to the leather pump cup. They last indefinitely. Yours probably needed some oil. You can buy them by the dozen at Old Coleman Parts if you want a new one. Those plastic doodads are pretty sorry. You can almost always pop he leather out and wet it down with whatever you have, bend it outwards, and it will work. That little black disc of plastic/rubber gets really hard over time and when it quits pumping your screwed.
Thanks for the tips. Those leather cup lasts almost indefinitely If it's isn't holding a seal. Just put a little bit of oil on it. Vegetable oil works and even spit will work!
Found a lot of things in my trip to the big city today!

Yeah, the $80 was at an antique store, the stoves were in a thrift store, $25 maybe?$80.00?!?!?!? Holy cow, that's ridiculous. I dont even want to know how much they wanted for the other appliances. The most I've ever payed for a lantern is $25, and that's only if it's a real nice one.

Is that vent painted? It may not hold up unless you used very high temp paint. There is a place that will actually use porcelain(like from the factory)if you ever want to go that route.Initial firing after coating and rebuild.
Getting ready to visit Dinosaur National Monument, and then presenting to Uncle!
