Also fired up my first QuickLite yesterday. This is not one of the ones I picked up from the estate sale last weekend. I’ve had this one on the shelf for a couple of months. What a neat design, very simple.
Just a test fire before cleanup but honestly I’m kinda digging all the patina this one has so it might stay just like it is.

Just spent a few days going through this awesome thread which I found AFTER picking up a 426d with side tables for $25. That joined the 286 single mantle and 425F from my childhood and a 220k that was in the garage when I bought the house.
Pics to come

But all this reading made me hungry for more, now on the hunt for a 502, 413, a stove stand, an oven and more importantly a suitable 426 and 200 or 242 to pack inside. Found this one local on CL, is it worth it, problems?

That’s worth it to me!

That’s pretty damn cool!

Someone dropped this by work for me while I was out last week...220B.
I’m stoked!
I think it’s from 1930 to 1934?
No date stamps, just 220 and a VERY light B.

Here’s my morning haul for $20: mostly I was after the 550B. Apparently the 413H shoots a big flame and the 550B won’t start. Can’t be too hard to figure out. The 550B is also missing the kerosene generator.
413H
550B Peak 1 Multifuel
285 Dual Fuel
2 plastic filter funnels
Almost empty fuel can

The 413H started up fine but needs a good cleaning.

The 550B was leaking from the fitting on the fount and the check valve was leaking. A little while later:

The 285 needed new mantles and lit right up.

hey guys - any DIY options to add a carrying handle to my grill/stove? I still store and transport mine in the cardboard box which can be awkward to carry and is one rain shower away from disintegrating. Or is there a lightweight box that will hold it without adding too much additional bulk?

Another $10 and I think I have rounded out my collection.

Needed nothing but started right up.

This guy also had this cool thing from long ago. I can go pick it up if somebody knows a collector that would be interested. I am not a collector and don’t want to keep it.

You could bust out the sewing machine and make a canvas bag for it...or hit up the local army surplus to see if you can find something ready-made that would work.

decided to attempt to restore my 425E stove. don't have any before pics but original paint was chipping and surface rust in some places. but it did burn well. use a combination of duplicolor engine enamel (the tan and black colors) and vht for the silver as that's what I had on hand. baked it all at 200 degrees for about an hr so we'll see how it holds up. I noticed I already chipped some paint by where the grill mounts to the body when I first tried to hammer in the little clip (I learned a small screw driver worked better by slowly pressing on the tabs instead). one thing I noticed with the duplicolor paint is that you can't really tilt the can. if you do so, the paint comes out in a textured effect instead of being smooth. not a big deal for me as it's better than what it was before. overall pretty happy with how it came out. hopefully it'll hold up.

You can even paint the burner bowl
and cap with the VHT header paint (no primer) and it holds up surprisingly well.
