Looking forward to the write up on the bumper, looks pretty good.
Also, I am always wondering why people blur pictures of their license plate. People can see the plate all day while the vehicle is on the road or parked someplace, but a picture on the internet is dangerous?

I blur mine because there are assholes on the Internet. I was famous for 15 minutes and attracted a small cadre of angry trolls who to this day still follow me around online and try to stir up s***. The less you can give these people, the better.

Is it just me, or is the lower right pintle hole way out of place? Could you get a bolt in there if you wanted to?

The bumper was only like $200 or something, lighten up.:flipoff2:

Wasn't trying to be mean or rude. I have noticed that on cell phone cameras things can get skewed if you move slightly when taking the pic. And I know this is not the case, but cost should not be a factor when it comes to something like that. IMO at least.

I took the horrendous window tint off today. Easy job with the steamer and some Windex to clean off any residue. I really don't know why the PO installed such awful tint. The factory tint is more than enough!

I hadn't noticed that, but you're right. It's misaligned. I just went and took some pictures to add to my review.

Nice score on a $200 bumper, wow.

Just so there's no misinformation floating around, it was $1100 shipped.

Regarding the above review...

I had a friend who does a little part-time fabricating out of his shop take a look at the bumper and the welds. He confirmed that the welds are really sloppy, but he wasn't concerned about any of them failing. I asked if it would be worth cleaning them up and he said no, so we left it at that and moved on to the next idea.

I had him fab a three can basket and mount it on the swing-out that formerly had the ladder. The ladder was shockingly stout. I forgot to get a picture of the tubing, but it's probably the thickest steel on the whole bumper - and it was heavy. I was worried about the weight of the three-can basket, but as it turns out it's actually lighter than the ladder and single-can bucket that were on there to begin with.

One of the aspects I like the best is that the back of the basket is exactly even with the back of the tire. I'll get some more pictures soon.

Check it out!

I recognized the Germantown Autozone!! Haha! I'm out in Eads.. great to see another Shelby county-er on mud. Would love to meet up and talk cruisers sometime! Looks great!
I'm just south of you in Hernando. I bought a 97 LX450 about 5 months ago. Do you know anyone in the area that does good work on these fj80's? I had an OME lift installed, the front differential replaced, and new vented and slotted brakes all around. I need to get seals and gaskets replaced, but want someone familiar with these vehicles to do the work. The last thing I'll do is cosmetic-paint and new upholstery. Glad to hear of enthusiast in the area!!

@Bwhnter I had all my work done by a guy named Bobby Moran at The Cruiser Company in Little Rock. In Memphis there are a couple people who work on Cruisers, but I can’t recall any names off the top of my head. There’s a small but active Facebook group called Bluff City Cruisers. I’d ask there. Good luck!
