Did you know that the front bezel was originally cream also?
Here's a NOS I recently sold. Compare that to the white table below it.

Would that be 012 Cygnus White? Original colour for the bezel and roof panel.

I'll be painting them this colour as part of my current restoration.

Last time I was at Beno's dealership we pulled all the emblems he had in stock, 6 different part numbers, if I remember correctly. None of them match. When I eventually paint my truck, I will have to fix that.

Aussie-you might find that color to be on the yellow/tan end of white...............it is far from a pure white, didn't match my top color on my brothers '76. I would spray something else first before you spray your parts, just my .02. Mine came from Cruiser Corps and color was off...

Roger makes a good point, OEM was truly more of a cream color.

Yeah, oem is a tan color but they are two different shades of tan. See post #687.

I asked a "Knowledgeable Cruiser Mechanic" about what gear oil they recommended for our rig's transmission & transfer case. Response was; just buy the 80W90 weight that is on sale, GL-4 or GL-5 is fine being the gears are so large. Thus, I've been shopping for some 80W90 gear oil.....At about $5 bucks a quart shipped to my door, I bought this:

Equipped with the goods, I changed the transmission & transfer case oil this weekend. I also installed new OEM 12157-10010 drain plug gaskets as needed.

Where'd you order from? That looks like a good deal.

...anything that's labeled 'for industrial use, not for retail sale' has to be!

I have used Kroil oil for years. Awesome stuff. I am never without a can of it. Once you order from Kano labs you get on the mailing list. They send out sales flyers every so often with some good deals.

From research 012 White is the correct colour for the hardtop/front bezel and it's definitely a very creamy/yellow white. The roof/bezel are not supposed to be a pure white.

CCOT colour chart page even lists the hardtop/bezel as 012 Cygnus White....

GA,
Looks awesome! Getting ready to do this on mine. Did you use the POR Metal Prep on it? How is the POR 15 holding up?

I went a different route than POR 15, I used Hammerite Rust Cap - Gloss Black. The prep, sprayed the frame good and removed any loose paint or rust. Then two coats of the Hammerite and I'm happy.
