Nice color choice. Is it the factory sandy taupe code?

I am told it is a shade of white and the light is off making it look weird.

It’s definitely not sandy taupe.

Oh ya, this piece is actually from a 2016+ 78-series. For power windows and door locks, master switch, LX trim. It was difficult to get in LHD. I double checked this afternoon that it works (didn’t have it before the Troopy left) and it does fit! Lines right up with the mounting hole in these 1993 doors. Thank you Toyota for not changing this stuff in nearly 35yrs! 😋

Those outside door handle part numbers have been the same for FOURTY years. Remarkable.
Indeed, if it works it works and no need for a new one. While not as flashy as a door handle, Toyota has used this same brake tube clip also for 40 years not only on J7's but in the Cruiser world, even the 300 has 'em (and most other Toyotas too). Talk about a good all-rounder -

So we are laying down Dynamat, obviously. After that we will spray sound deadener and a ceramic coating to finish it off. We have a number of other products in hand for a say “top layer” but not sure we will use any of that. From my experience once sound deadening starts getting real thick it gets real hard to fit trim and carpet/vinyl right.

Held off on fitting the top because I ordered a bunch of Sikaflex vs using a different product. Was going to use a 3M 2-part panel adhesive but we would have needed to invest $900 into a gun for one job so said nah and using Sikaflex instead.

Had to order a bunch of hardware and miscellaneous items to do final assembly on the four doors. We have a lot but not enough to do a final on all four doors.

Need to install ARP head studs in the FTE before we drop the power train in. That should happen this month, just chugging away right now with the many tasks needed to get this thing on the road! 😋

Cheers
