Well don’t give up just yet!

I don’t give up. Can’t actually. I’m too deep into it.

Yes I have a good F135 here.

What I would like best is someone that really wants a super cool Texas Red 40 to come along and take it in the direction they want to take it.

Sneak a 3F-E in there and run with it. Kinda-stock, that way. ;)

Actualiy that is one of the many forks at the crossroads.

I can see me putting another F135 in it and someone comes along and wants it with a 2F......

Good news for Texas Red Too.

A fella from Dallas that has a weakness for old rusty ass Land Cruisers is adopting Texas Red as is. He’s got a few rebuilt F135s in house and is not skeered of taking another one into his fleet.

He’s also getting the original PTO back that I had redone for another project.

This is not the ending financially I was banking on when I went into this project but I’m super happy that it’s going home to Texas and also it’s going to someone that will appreciate the originality of it and not screw it up.

Made the trip over to the Dallas area. The new owner has quite a fondness for old 40s and 25’s so I know Texas Red found a great home

@whitey45 @Indygbd you know where it landed

So @Robert shields was quite the host today. He let me touch all of his Cruisers and his many many many cool NOS Cruiser parts and tools.

He smoked some meats and even has his own beautiful Texas Red (head)

So yeah, and to top off the day @joekatana made the trip down to deliver some OEM gas cans for @jmlockwood ’s project in his killer cool 70 series

A few more random shots. As you can see, Texas Red has a fine new home. I’ll bug him for updates as he sorts out the dead engine and hopefully I can get him to keep us updated on this fine Texas 40

@Robert shields wasted no time jumping into this engine issue.

Remember the water that was in the air cleaner? Looks like that’s not the only place it
Was. The oil I drained out of the motor was black and not milky but there was water in the oil pan.

Wow! Good stuff

dumb question. The return fuel line running from the regulator. Anyone have photos or advice on where to bring this back in to the fuel cell at?

It’s not a dumb question if you have an early fuel tank with no factory return.

If so you either

a) have to add a return
b) T into the fill vent

Ah, I do..... a 1970. I suspect I will go into the vent line (easiest) via a T as much as I hate that. What would be the best way to "add a return line"?

It’s the reason I went in tank on my 45. The pump bulkhead has a return and a vent. Two things I think a tank with as much return as a Sniper has could need.

I know the T setup works for a carb return but that’s a low pressure system.

I think you can get a generic return tube and soldier it in the top of the tank.
