Just plain impressed sweet ride, one day I hope to have a 40 also. That dude is nice.

it’s a sweet truck. I’d love to keep it but it’s going to have to find another lover.

come get it.

Just as I expected, the empty Tcase meant that the Tcase was just leaked out.

Ordered a double seal rear housing and a new front seal from @orangefj45

Meanwhile, Cowboy maintains watch

I found some beautiful worn red fenders that will blend nicely in with the Texas Red Patina and not have any of the cracks and bondo.
I did this on my 67 FJ45 and it was really a nice fix to some nasty beat up fenders (the Goat was worse than these)

@under_psi came up to help me reseal the transfer case today.

Really glad we did this......the driveshaft bolts were in terrible shape as well as loose.

The front output was pretty easy. Popped off the old seal and used a 54 mm socket to tap it back in.

I won’t even mess with a Toyota 1 piece case anymore without ordering a double seal speedometer housing from @orangefj45

The parking brake looked a bit worn so I grabbed a spare build kit I had. This is always a “fun” job as the aftermarket shoes always need to be ground out to make them work

Lou was going to take Texas Red to town and shake it down some.
I’ve only attempted the ride to town once before and ran out of gas so this time I grabbed a strap and followed

We made it 4 miles and something in the clutch blew up.

Holy s***. 👎👎👎👎👎

Looks like I get to do a clutch job now.

What’s the scoop? Compression no bueno?

I sounds like a sewing machine at idle but once you accelerate its got a loud knock

(You likes know all this) Compression should indicate which rod spun a bearing. Safer would be to drop the oil pan and the one that wiggles gets a new bearing. Sad. I love this cruiser.

Me too. Makes me ill just because it’s so original. Also because I paid a lot and have spent a lot of time with it.

The 40 market is dumb. People are buying trucks that are a 1/4 if this one for 300% what I value this truck.

I’m at a crossroads.
