I’ve tried emailing them but it gets bounced back. I’m still searching online how to acquire one.
Do you want the big screen or are you trying to upgrade the system? Have you considered deleting the navigation and installing a double DIN of your choice? Some guys in the 100 section reported problems with similar android setups. I deleted my climate control nav in my 100 and installed a double DIN. I do not have a 200 yet

Combination of the larger screen, phone mirroring, and better navigation features. Also, those screens have physical buttons for the damn climate controls. Why does Toyota think I’d like to go through multiple steps just to change fan speed?

I currently have a 12.1 Tesla style screen installed in my 15 Lc200. To be honest you wont find much difference in hardware nor interface. Im from Vietnam and we usually import a lot of Chinese products. These screens come from the same chinese manufacturing plant. The only difference is the branding. I guess my advice is to find the most cheapest one you can get your hands On. Just my 2cents.

I suspect 90% of the product (good or bad) is the software. They may be running Android 7, but if the hardware is underpowered the experience will be awful.

Story time (everyone pull up a chair and get comfy)...

About 5 years ago I picked up a new 10" Android tablet off Amazon for $100. It was supposedly the latest A8 or A9 processor, had enough RAM, a capacitive touch screen, and was running the latest Android version at the time (I can't recall if it was 3.0 or 4.0). It looked great, but the performance was awful. Soooo laggy, slow to respond, often confusing gestures (i.e. touch vs swipe vs pinch) because of it. I ended up sending it back and bought a Google Nexus. (The Nexus was great for a few years, but eventually got slower even though I hadn't updated it)

Moral of my story is that even if the specs look good the actual performance of these touch screens is only as good as the integration. If the drivers that are included to run the climate controls or read OBD2 data are slow or buggy then the entire experience is likely to be crap. Mind you I'm not saying all of these products are in fact crap, but I suspect there's one company which started manufacturing these and any clone is probably going to be a "meh" experience. Of course I hope I'm proven wrong.

I agree. Its an Android tablet after all. There will be occasional crashes here and there. I can tell you, opening up google maps takes while. As if it the tablet doesnt have enough processing power. Once loaded though its quite smooth. I use youtube for music on my commutes to work (spotify doesnt work in my country) and the app would crash out on me now and then. Bluetooth audio is not as good as my previous Piooner headunit. The AC functions never gave me problems though, which i think its the most important aspect.

We need more LX570 love. It isn’t clear whether there is cross compatibility for our vehicles. Hopefully someone can chime in!

Agreed! I would love to update my headunit. I had a CarPlay headunit in my FJ Cruiser and really miss the modern functionality. The only semi interesting LX570 option I have found is this unit:

Select Lexus Toyota 2006-2009 VLine VL2 Infotainment System Upgrade Video Interface

The problem is it retains the stock, low resolution, display but might be an interesting option. Disappointing that it is as expensive as some of these full replacement options with much larger higher resolution displays.

So I have had a support ticket in with Phoenix for about two weeks now to confirm whether they are shipping the updated full screen stereo or the older version that still incorporates the temperatures, ect. on the top of the dash. As I commented on earlier - you just don't gain much confidence in there product if they do not update there website or answer support tickets. Perhaps I will try to call them tomorrow - see if I can talk to a real person.

That unfortunately is the downside of Android OS, Google offers it for free so any company can peddle crap and not support it post sale. I don't hate my head unit as much as I thought I would, but I certainly would like a lot more functionality without have to swap it out, a software update from Toyota on an $86k vehicle should NOT be a challenge for them.

Really slick, but they need to fix that boot time. On a hot day, does it take 10s after starting your car to get the AC going?

In my continuing search I ran across this video showing some of the features of the Almani branded screen.

Thank you for posting this video - it helps a lot. It is one of the first videos to show the functionality of the birds eye view camera and the product that worked with the Tesla Style unit. The end of the video mentions trim classifications of his 2014 as VXR and other trim options in the Land Cruiser as EXR AND GXR - suggesting that the 12" screen option is for these models.

What is the difference in the VXR, EXR and GXR? What models do these trim packages apply to and does my 2008 have a trim model or is just a 2008 Land Cruiser?

I would assume looking at the global models they received in the Middle East with engine and trim options we never got here in the states their VXR models would be most like the trim options we received here in the states. لاندكروزر - الفئات و الأسعار | تويوتا السعودية
