Thanks.
I'm in Reno all the time but haven't had a reason to drive the 40 down there, don't know why I would when I have several other more appropriate cars to drive on a twisty mountain interstate with big rigs crashing all the time lol.
This is for cruising around the basin and exploring roads and trails up here.

I’ve noticed I have to pull my self up holding onto the steering wheel as I have my right foot on the floor of the cab. For me, the extra lift is more noticeable but so is my age

Thanks.

Well if you need a reason, there's an active cruiser club down here and we happen to have a meeting Thursday evening 🤣

In any case, if you ever are in Carson city let me know

I caved and ordered a set of the TT parabolics for my '72 FST to refresh the OEM suspension. Looking forward to comparing it to the OME 2.5" I had on my old 40. Everything I've read says it should be a much nicer ride than OME.

Likely will stick with the stock 15's and do 33's of some kind. But I haven't ruled out the 16's from City Racer yet.

The Kenda 33x9.50 is a great tire. I'm really digging the mud terrain looks

I think you’d be hard pressed to find anything bad with them…I was truly dead set against spending the money on them after spending a fair amount on other upgrades. These upgrades made the 40 so much better that I literally had to upgrade that 50 year old suspension or consider all those great changes moot. Good luck with them. Looking forward to seeing your review

Another set mounted on a 60 series.

Turns out they are calling the spacers "shims" and you can custom pack your spring packs for height or lean by moving them around in the pack from top to bottom. One or both.

Based on the last 60 I did, I kept the rear 2 blocks on the bottom of the pack like they came.

On the front I moved them from the top to the bottom and added a 4* caster shim.

This stance gives me a 1" rake which I prefer.

Those that like the level look could move the rear blocks to the top of the springs.

1 shim is about 1/2" .... both is 1"

This truck came with some low mileage Iron Man foam cell pro shocks on it so I kept them versus the TT shocks.

So far in testing I can't tell a lot of difference. They have a lot more size so I'm sure they would last better under harsh use but on my normal test areas it's not a big difference

Remove those shims for 1" more ground clarence , they have no fonction under the spring pack
True if that matters to you. Have at it. Save them if you get a lean

Got started on the Terrain tamer lift for the FJ40 yesterday.

Question, the shocks came with 2 different types of rubber bushings in the box, one is a rubber bushing for each side of each shock mount, the other is a one piece that slides through the shock opening. Anyone know the difference? part number wasn't coming up with anything when I searched (pictured). My FJ40 is a '72.

At a stand still for now since I was sent FJ60 U bolts by mistake. And I decided to buy all new shock hardware from Redline. FJ40 Suspension Washer and Nut Kit - RL1268 A or B (SU1-1A/B) - Red Line Land Cruisers - https://redlinelandcruisers.com/product/fj40-suspension-washer-and-nut-kit-rl1268-a-or-b-su1-1-a/

I used the 1 piece bushing on my 75.

I would also recommend adding 4 degree steel caster shims to the front. The pin is long enough to accommodate.
Thanks for the info. Was planning on doing the 4 degree shims up front. Have a box of steel ones here.

I loved watching this before I did my springs….

Finished installing the lift yesterday on the '72 FST. The Terrain Tamer kit is really nice.
Here are some pics. I am just waiting on my 33" KM3 to arrive. The tires in the pics are 30x9.5. All is pretty much done but I need to cut down the U bolts and do a final torque of everything.

It has some cruiser lean to the passenger side, about 3/4". Will play around with the levelling blocks in the rear to correct.

Also has some slight nose down rake. Im guessing due to no hard top so not much weight on the back end. Swapping the rear short leaf blocks from bottom to top will fix it I believe.

I don't think it has too much rake but yes if you want to mix and match the little blocks, top to bottom or vice versa to tune the level you can. It does not matter what side those blocks are on. Top or bottom. I've have them on both sides depending on which truck the packs were for
