One question .. how afect the let / circuit the open close task if you set the dome light with the doors ?
tapage, i do not understand your question. Could you say that again in a different way please.
I really like the look and praise of this product and am considering ordering a set, but i am curious if there is some lights that you make that i could mount in the engine compartment. I would like to get a switch like the ones they use for car starters to turn on a couple lights in the engine compartment.
Works exactly like the tungsten bulbs, comes on right away with the door when set to door. Just brighter![]()
The on/off task does not affect the life expectancy of the LET .. ?
Ah - I've deciphered the question
If I understand it, you're asking whether the LED cycling on/off with the door opening/closing will affect life expectancy? The answer is no, you can open/shut the door until it falls off the hinges and the LED will still happily turn on/off with the other door and you can start the cycle again until the next door falls off the hinges
cheers,
george.
got mine in and installed both front and rear"cargo"; had to drill couple of small holes for the cargo light but although a pain was very doable......just need a new drill bit so the bit won't "wander"; anyone install one on a fj55?
I installed mine on the front with no issues. I just could not get the rear to work for some reason. The front has a very nice flexible mount which made the install a piece of cake. The rear has no flex or spring to it and no matter what I did to achieve a solid mount there was no joy. I even pulled the one from my 60 to see if there was a difference. Even though I had what appeared to be a firm mount, I could not get the cargo to work. I decided not to bother with drilling. I just installed the second led in the dome for the 60. These are an excellent mod and provide a much better lighting situation for the dome light. I don't use the cargo enough to get crazy with soldering or drilling holes. I am happy with the dome improvement. I can highly recommend this mod but if someone does it, you might want to think twice about doing the cargo.

drilled a couple of very small holes in the metal "flex" part of the festoon socket slightly closer the the end of it so I could bend the metal festoon socket a bit and get good contact.........wow
.............awsome improvement
.......thanks George;
now how about the dome light on a 55??
