If you get there after dark Friday and can't find us just stand on the bridge and yell. The bush is thick and you can't see the bridge from the fire pit. Bruce et al showed up at dusk last year and the floods had rearranged the foliage and made the trail near invisible. We had to hunt for it in the daylight.

Actually, you'd prolly rather approach from Edson on hwy 40 trunk road.

Byron, there is a staging area right at the trail head, I'm sure you could find a spot to stuff your tow rig amongst the other campers. I doubt very much you would want to go the Nordegg way (too much back tracking for us Northern folks), you can head in just west of Edson down the trunk road, then take Pembina river road to Grave Flats. I can make up a map for you if you need. I have a few "secret" camping spots there as well (there is an old government campsite there that few people know about, in fact I have never seen another soul there)

Whoa, it's like I didn't even read the previous post (Paul's?). Was thinking I'd come in from Drayton, go out through Edson, just to mix it up a little.

I'm heading to Toma Creek on Friday afternoon. Spend the night there, then wheel Ruby on Saturday.
I'm coming through Cadomin, via Hinton. I know the road is washed out, I managed to bypass it last fall.

I missed the last meeting, who if anyone from the OCC is planning on going to this. I missed it last year and would be interested in going.

Ok, well I am still a go. Travelling with me will be about 4-5 other rigs (2 Jeep XJs, Nissan Patrol, FJ60, and possibly a built Toy Pickup).

Tyler and Dean showed interest at the meeting, and Paul was on the fence.

Anyhow, that's my update. I don't expect many or any changes on my part from here to Friday's departure.

I have to bail. The government didn't plan the long weekend very well at that is forcing me to stay back and work. I'd be available for a one day thing locally though.

I think I'm all but out except for a local trip.

OK, well I've decided I'm in.

I have a plan to tarp in my box so I have a nice place to sleep. Hope it works.

I guess I'll have to put the roof back on too. Looks like rain in the forecast.

Your truck will be a build and not a restoration after this trail Larry. Make sure to have solid tow points. And don't follow the big tires too close on the gravel roads with that new windshield!

For those who can't make this run head out on the 30th to our local sandbox. Should be a great time.

I thought this was just a leisurely Sunday drive!
