The Sky kit is very nice. I was a bit surprised that the new bolts are 8.8 instead of 10.9 considering the beef and overall quality of the fabricated parts.

It is also funny to compare the OEM end to the HD end of the new draglink. I will post a picture of that later.

Well front-end rebuild has moved up... at least a minor tear-down to check bearings. Drivers side has some serious play on the spindle.

3 out of 4 wheel spacers installed.

Earned my keep today. Installed the new Sky kit and front and rear driveline spacers. Matt did a partial rebuild of the from driver knuckle. Fun facts to know, the rear drive shaft had water in it. I removed the flange bolts and literally poured out about 1/4 cup of water. Awesome. This little dude isn't gonna understand what being taken care of is like.

Yep and here's the proof

She did a good job and if she hadn't jumped in the crossover kit and driveshaft spacers would be for me another day.

I ended up putting a band-aid on a bullet wound on the front end. The drivers side wheel bearings are shot! I didn't really want to spend all day doing a full rebuild on the front end, so I ended up pulling the seal and removing the bearing. The spindle is black from heat I think since the inner bearing was seized. I cleaned it up as well as I could and repacked it and got it rolling pretty well, but after I got it back together I can tell that the rollers are very worn, you can feel the flats when you spin the hub. It went against every bone in my body and I had to fight to not tear it down and put the new ones in but that would have just been a waste of the bearings. I figure it will get us thru ACC and then it will get a full rebuild later this winter.

I repacked the knuckle with some cheap Moly from the parts store and threw everything back together. Since I know the hubs are basically Toyota units with different hub gears I will be picking up some gaskets and doing a full rebuild on them when I do the rest of the front-end.

So at this point I thing we just have to finish up the passenger seat, change the trans and front diff fluid and clean it out and I think it should be ready for a proper shake-down.... at Golden Mtn next weekend.:steer:

Fabbed up a custom battery hold down, I think even Andy would approve :hillbilly:

Working on passenger seat and letting the front diff drain.

Passenger seat is in, and the front diff fluid was pretty clean so it was just refilled with lucas and 80 weight.

I have no idea how I have gotten along soo long without this whole welder thing... sure made fabbing the new seat mount super easy.

Crappy cell picture of a pair of cheap-o off road lights that we have had in the cabinet for 4 or 5 years. Mounted and wired. Need to clean up the wire placement with a few zip ties and cut a slot in the dash for the switch but overall I am pleased. Didn't want to put the LED's on there since she is determined to destroy that stinger :hillbilly: :steer:

And this getting dark an hour earlier is for the birds... dark earlier and it is getting cold, glad I am mostly done with the squirt for now.

NEW BIG HEAD LIGHTS. :hhmm:

Well, i think we are about ready to see how this little critter does.

Need to bolt down the battery, top off the fluids and swap in the transmission seat and bolt and we should be good to go.

Looking forward to seeing everyone this weekend at GMP.

You sure 92,000 psi will be enough? I mean there are only 2 holding the arm on and we are talking about Erin driving.... :grinpimp: (when she reads that I am gonna get an ear full)

I agree, after thinking about it more I kinda figured it would be ok. They have been making kits for a long time and I figure they know what they are doing by now.

Really? Need I remind you of the hit that jarred the fusable link loose? :hillbilly:

Didn't know you needed a hitch. I had one for cheap :)

Kind of was a last minute decision in case I needed to tow the sami up this weekend.
