I have a 2013 200 Series and thought I could I use use a USB thumb drive to play music. In reading the manual am I only seeing that I can only use a CD as a music source. Or can I use a USB?

I guess no one has encountered this issue .

According to page 20 in the 2013 Owner's Quick Reference Guide, "Connecting a USB-compatible portable audio device or USB memory to the USB port will enable you to listen to these devices through the vehicle’s speaker system."

Italics are my add. It may be that it has to be MP3 or some other specific format to properly play. It might also be that you are trying to large a memory stick.

I keep a *tiny* Sandisk 64GB plugged into my USB port, it has about 10GB of music stored on it. It's my "all else fails" music source, if I have no cell service, no bluetooth, and/or my phone goes belly-up. I hate radio, can't listen to it anymore (don't think I've ever tried it in this truck). Works fine, but the on-screen interface is very awkward and slow. I think all the files are MP3.

I actually removed the fender antenna from my Miata.

OK, THIS IS REALLY PISSING ME OFF!!!!!

2015, nav screen setup>maintenance>personal . I can set the date and mileage, but for the life of me, I cant figure out how to put in the text. I know I've done it before but cant figure out how to edit it now.

Thx for talking me off the ledge.

I don't think any of that stuff is meant to be used by anyone. The interface is horrible. I write it all down in a little notebook i keep under the drivers seat.

Answered my own question. For the 3 "personal" items in the maintenance reminder screen, you can EDIT the mileage and the date, but NOT the text. To change the text, you have to delete the personal item and then you can specify new text, mileage interval, and date. Unfortunately, the button text will always read, "Personal,"

In case anyones wondering, I have the personal buttons set for drive train greasing, ac cabin filter, and for now, a reminder to retorque my newly installed Jowett Oil filter housing.

Looking for the rear end cap off of the driver side running board. LC200

Some road debris jumped up and bit me and ripped mine clean off.

I can trade for factory roof rack cross bars!!

I busted up my running boards before switching to sliders, I’ll see if my end caps are still salvageable and in decent condition

If you want them their yours. Message me directly with your info.

My SQOD, anyone know how to remove this piece on an 08 LX? I didn’t want to break any clips if I don’t have to. Going to attempt some arts and crafts due to the cracking/peeling.

If you install the Odyssey or other AGM battery, you should look into an Alternator Voltage Booster, or do what I did and solder a diode in line with the Alternator Sensing lead to fool the alternator into charging at a higher voltage.
Can you elaborate on the diode mod you did or alternator voltage booster? Thanks

I’m not @1MAC, but if you are 2008-2015 (pre8 speed 16+ which may be called 2015 in Australia)...you want either this:

Or this if you want the ability to tweak exact level of effect:

I have used both with success and currently use the adjustable.

Is this fuse under the hood ? I'm just getting the voltage to charge my aux battery through the National Luna system.

There's different schools of thoughts on AGM, and diodes. So you have your eyes wide open as you make your choice...

Be aware that diodes might have the effect of prematurely aging an AGM battery further. Yes, they might get a smart alternator to make excess voltage so that it charges an AGM for the short term. But these batts don't like underhood heat as is. When used with a diode with hot underhood temps (when temp compensation says to reduce voltages), tends to further exacerbate the premature wear issue.

Yes.
Basically tricks your alternator into treating your battery like it’s at a lower charge than it is...so that it cranks up the output...which keeps your AGM happier. Still not perfect, butVery helpful

It’s been 3 years since I did the mod, but I seem to recall spending less than $5 in parts and about 15 minutes soldering the lead together.

Ya..., nearly all produced electronics are like that. Their parts cost basically dirt.
But sometimes it’s worth a little extra to skip the solder, iron, loking around for right resistor, screwups, cursing etc. :)

Plus...with the HKB, it blends in with the other fuses...meaning...
**Toyota service is less likely to yank it out without telling you—assuming it’s a mistake.

Ask me why I think to mention that... :bang:
:)

Anyone have any idea what this switch could be or how I could figure it out? Have had my 2010 LX for three months and just discovered it. It’s on the driver’s side against the center console

It doesn’t illuminate in either position so it might not do anything.

Either: kill switch, co-pilot eject switch, or powers on the afterburners.
