Spare fuel bladders in the doors?

Did all 40 series Land Cruisers have a fuel tank under the passenger seat?

I’ve had a 77 40 and 70 fj45, they both did.

Gasoline will freeze at about -200f. You could modify an ARB fridge to work like a cryogenic chamber and run iridium tubing through the door channels to dissipate liquid nitrogen. This would keep the fuel solid and even double the safety factor in a t-bone type collision. Just melt and use as needed...
Interesting but the solid might be harder to manage. The bladder in the door would have some flexibility to accommodate the windows sliding up and down. The bag would just squish out of the way of the window run and mechanism but a solid would interfere.

Guys you're also acting like leakproof bladders don't exist. Look:

It says leak proof so obviously it's just a race car kinda thing. OEMs probably don't have a supplier for high quantities of this material, so they stick to old school tech

Wow, I thought this thread was a joke when I read the title. And a poor joke at that. @nukegoat if you've ever seen the results of humans that have survived accidents involving gasoline burns, let alone the remains of those that didn't, you would abandon this ridiculous idea. I don't care how many "degrees" you have in any field. And I don't care how many "safeguards" you design into it, it's not worth the potential danger to the occupants for carrying around a few extra gallons of fuel. I'm no saint, I've foolishly carried extra fuel inside my rig and gotten away with it when needing extra fuel for a trip. But looking back, to what I exposed myself to, I shake my head in embarrasment. Since then I've been blessed to install a LRA 24 gallon aux tank where the OEM spare was stowed. No it's not foolproof or totally safe, but it's engineered with a time tested design? You can't see all the hazards coming your way, but you can use common sense to avoid exposing you and your rig's occupants to unnecessary risks.
Does the phrase 'Hook, line, and sinker' mean anything to you?

I say go for it.
I mean it's a dumpster fire of an idea but if you want to put in the work, make it happen, just stay in Cali with it.;);)

I don't want to leave this state. No reason to. We have the most enlightened people, the best schools, Yosemite, the Mojave desert, and Disneyland. Plus we are more productive than other Americans, since our GDP per capita is higher. Housing is expensive because everyone wants to be here but not everyone is useful enough to society to afford it.

Wow never ever, just go get a LR tank and you can carry 80 gallons the dumb idea of in the doors is ridiculous, there would never be enough safety for gas bags in the doors, no matter how much engineering book shyte you have common sense super cedes book BS and like said drop the Meth/crack pipe and lose the bath saltz :flush: :flush: :flush:

Those LR tanks are boat anchors. The way I drive, they would rip open on the rocks.

Also, they don't even let people in Oregon pump their own gas because they're afraid you won't know how

Let's get back to tech please...do you guys think 4 hoses to each door would be better than a manifold? I was at Lowes today to buy a refrigerator to take advantage of the new year's deals but saw some cheap PEX manifolds which would allow you to shut off each door for on-road filling up and only fill it up when you want to. I like the simplicity of the clear vinyl tubing to each bag for trail repairs.

I drew a picture to help you guys visualize my first idea:

Hey, show us some pictures of the doors on your truck. I want to visualize the volume we’re working with.
They just look like white 80 doors with some small door dings and stuff, I don't follow

That's as ridiculous of a statement as the premise for this Thread. You keep believing all that nonsense sunshine. You're special....and don't let anyone tell you anything different. Now go find your Kool-Aid....

Ok, the multiple dispersed reserve tanks idea was nifty, but now you're just trolling.
