For those individual inquiries regarding my air filter setup, I’m attaching the following information. I modified and installed this system over 20 years ago and was surprised to find the K&N Filtercharger Injection Performance Kit P/N 57-9001 still available on-line today. I’ve seen claims of a 6 HP increase due to the increased air flow. If you install, you be the judge. The kit is intended for The Toyota MR2 2.0L Turbo (1990-1995) but is easily bolted to theFJ62 Air Flow Meter. After that, you simply modify the K&N mounting hub to accept the various size air hoses (4) and mounting position. Replacement K&N filters P/N RF-1009 are readily available. Best of all, it’s a quality K&N product that provides an enormous amount of free space in your engine bay.

Need another 3FE pic in this thread. Here is mine post intake/fuel injector project:

Common theme I see in a lot of these engine bay pics (myself included) is nasty looking clutch fluid and some nasty looking brake fluid. I think this these are probably the fluids that get most overlooked for maintenance. Should have a nice clear appear and probably be flushed every 4-5 years. When its the color of Grade C maple syrup (or for you people who follow the new naming convention for maple Syrup :ban: : Grade A: Very Dark with Strong Taste with a light transmittance of under 25%) Then its time to flush

I flushed my MC and system last night actually! It was way too dark:doh:

Just a little morning warmup exercise in reverse engineering :)

actually, you're probably loosing power instead of gaining it with that filter on that engine. Consider that a Mr2 engine is half the displacement of a 3FE and that KN filter looks about 1/2 the surface area of a 3F air filter.

I believe the MR2 is also forced induction. There’s also been a lot of testing done comparing “cold air” intakes to the stock airbox and pretty much all of them have yielded less power than the stock setup.

for a land cruiserI’d say it just cleans up the engine bay.

New engine cover. Don't know if the insulation (there's a fair bit) will make any difference whether good (sound) -- or bad (thermal).

I've since discovered it's just a Foton ISF2.8 cover that Axis is bolting their Cummins logo plate to though. I mean it's a nice anodized, machined plate and all -- and I'm sure they're paying Cummins a licensing fee -- but a 700% value-add I'm not so sure about. LOL.

Wish I'd thought to search "Foton engine cover" first. I'm sure I could have found a sticker for a couple hundred bucks. :bang:
$320 vs $45 on Alibaba. A fool and his money...

Is that the stock box from a 60/2FE? I'm looking for a can from the 62/3FE (I accidentally got rid of mine) since I don't think the earlier versions bolt up properly.

Thanks.

That is a 62 air cleaner box.

@NCFJ That is one sharp looking engine bay. #goals
