I did a 250 mile trip today mostly on gravel roads. No traffic solo trip. This thing really really shines on trips like this. Washboard and tight gravel. Tons of fun. The ScheelMann seat makes 8 hours in the saddle no issue.

Been DD’ing the 70 this week. It’s super cold. If this thing has a thermostat in it at all it’s a high temp one because it takes a while to get the heat going. Once it’s warm it’s nice and hot. I do love how cool it runs in the summer which is much bigger of an issue for me.

Either way I really love this thing. Super fun to drive.

This is a rabbit hole I went down that cost WAY too much money to buy with all new OEM parts

I love how these things look back here on the FZJ70.

I got the Can holder and Licence plate holder from @Racer65 but the new hinges and black bracket came from Partsouq

While I had the panel off I lined the door with sound mat. It’s in all the panels except the passenger side Amby door.

Did you end up bolting the black carrier frame through the sheet metal on the door for this at the top and bottom on the right side of the frame?

I am sourcing the last few bits to add this to mine, and had assumed that was the case, but figured I’d ask since you’ve walked the path already.

Cheers!

Yes. I tried it with just rubber bumps but it was too shaky. I drilled those two holes and it's solid.

I want one 😜

I was the devil who shipped them to nolen, they were two of the cleanest J70 i sold. the drivability was fantastic except they needed new shocks.
More of a Land Cruiser angel than devil. More Meshal magic.

Unbelievable to find two with that few kilometers. In my experience, those are typically driven by young men/teenagers and they drive the wheels off of them.

Ramadan Mubarak!

112,000 k and 100,000 k

The undersides on both look new

Obvious in the picture;

One is plain snow white with no upgrades, but the other has glamorous decals that help the truck visually pop plus upgrades like door mounted gas can (an indication of more to come in all likelihood).

Great work, Nolen

Meshal sources most of his trucks from the mountains. I'll post underside videos. They are crazy clean. Not respray clean. Stock Toyota clean.

The 70s got less trendy after the 71 with its coil pack. But yes i find clean ones that i would buy for myself. And i want my American brothers to enjoy their trucks not fixing them all time.

Thank you. Such a perspective is highly appreciated, especially so in long distance purchases of this nature.
