time for an update. I have now shipped out over 50 dash bezels. WAY more than I expected in the first 10 days. I guess that is good. With the release of any new product, there is always that chance some issue arises I didn't catch. Folks use it in ways or install in styles I didn't account for. That has now presented itself in the form on non-universal CB mics. I test fit my cb holder with the couple CB's my neighbor had. They were all very similar in size and all cleared the dash but some folks have CB mics that have large heads that hit the dash. You have two options. Mount the mic holder in the left insert which has a tad more dash clearance. If that doesn't work then it wasn't meant to be. Feel free to ship back the holder for a refund or I can swap it for another blank plug plus reimburse for the cost difference. I had a guy (first person to receive the bezel) last week decide to switch the cb mic holder to the left side and a tab broke off in removal. He let me know and I went back to my prototype and started yanking and reinstalling the plug. Sure enough on the 4th exchange I cracked a tab. I was so worried about perfect fitment that I forgot about the ability to remove and reinstall the tabs over and over. I quickly added 30% thickness to the tabs and added a needed curvature and filet to the tab and made a new one. I was able to install and remove that one many times without breakage. Unfortunately I had already shipped the first batch. Most of you ordered a bezel with no plugs so this doesn't affect you but about a dozen of you ordered plugs or mic holders (which use the same tabs). If you have a plug that you remove to reinstall in another spot or at a later time and it breaks, just let me know and I will quickly get you a new one (with updates) in the mail. I stand behind my products and if something fails I will make it right. The last batch that shipped out already has the updates so I'm really only talking about the first 1/2 of the orders with inserts that went out. You also want to realize that it takes some force to install the cb mount. The gamiviti one I had used for dimensions snapped into place with little force. At first I thought this was a good thing and made my version fit the same. Then after I installed a CB into the gamiviti holder and gave it a yank it just popped right off the bezel. Mine did the same. I then pushed the tabs out some more and did that again until I had a prototype that snapped in well and with good force I could not pull the tab out from the front. That also means that I'm putting a lot more force on the tabs to get the tighter fit which is where the problem occurred. I didn't want to remove that force since it was making a needed improvement on the original design so my only option was to beef up the tabs which I have now done. Just had to find the right balance of force and strength on the CB holder and the correct strength on the tabs as well. Sorry for the mistake but I WILL make it right if anyone in the near of distant future has an issue.

Bump. I just wanted to make sure the 1/2 dozen guys that bought a bezel with plugs/cb mount see the above post from last night.

Time for people to start showing their installs. I was waiting on the arrival of my switch bezel so I could complete the install of my power inverter. Here are a couple of pics. Thanks, Brad!!!

Sweet! Looks good. I would love to see some more installed pics.

So I went to install my switches yesterday and ran into a snag. Two ofthe contoura style switches don't fit in like the Toyota ones do :( I had to sand down the insides like I do with the Yota slots but cant stack two in there. Just a heads up for others.

Those buttons are definitely not something I accounted for. I'm not sure there is any change I can make to allow enough room for both to fit. I have never even seen those buttons. If I had access to one, I could at least try to see if the changes are possible to account for those buttons.

I have a few back stock of those same kind of switches. Can you mix up some of the stock switches with contoura style on the top row to get enough clearance?

Its a pretty cool switch but yea I dont think there is enough meat to get them both in there.
Amazon.com: STVMotorsports® Laser Backlit Blue Rocker Switch SIDE LIGHTS 20A 12V On/off LED Light STV Motorsports: Automotive they are a pretty cool switch the words light up with dash lights and the symbol lights up when on.
I use them for everything else but there is bigger spacing on in the rest of the slots.
no biggie though I thought I would just post it to let others know. I will just try to find Toyota switches to put in there.

I could probably get the stock yota push button type and one of the rockers in there.

If you pull that off, please post pics.

Small hijack to this thread for a product idea. Any thought to making A pillar gauge pods?

That is a possibility but right now I'm drowning in orders. No R&D for this month and I already committed to about a 1/2 dozen new products for January. I need to get passed the holidays before I resume any R&D. The pod project might be a good project to look into in February.

I like that idea but instead of the pillar put it in place of the clock and center vent and slightly angled towards the driver. Might even be able to get 4 in there. Pillar gauges tend to be too close to the drivers eyes and require such a huge change in focal length when glancing at them.

Gamivity had two designs for the mic holders, one would hold the back of the mic button flush while the other protruded out for greater clearance. I purchased the latter to use in the lower dash positions. It also came with a LED option to find it in the dark.

I was wondering why the gamiviti CB holder had those holes in the bottom of it. I didn't even think about lights. that makes sense. I was just scratching my head trying to figure out what the holes were for.

If I remember correctly his material was translucent with black paint over it, I adjusted the "glow" per his instructions of sanding away some paint where I wanted it to glow through. If you go to far paint and sand again, or I think I just lightly hit it with the paint again.

I still want some "vertical" mic ones to replace the stupid coin slots in the center console. Every 80 owner knows we don't have any spare change. :P

Seems like it would be easy to rotate 90 degrees in the software. We could also then use them in a vertical slot to the left of the steering wheel as well.

Brad - can you fit two OEM switch slots into the ashtray location? I would love to have another switch bezel that fits in there
