time for an update. I have now shipped out over 50 dash bezels. WAY more than I expected in the first 10 days. I guess that is good. With the release of any new product, there is always that chance some issue arises I didn't catch. Folks use it in ways or install in styles I didn't account for. That has now presented itself in the form on non-universal CB mics. I test fit my cb holder with the couple CB's my neighbor had. They were all very similar in size and all cleared the dash but some folks have CB mics that have large heads that hit the dash. You have two options. Mount the mic holder in the left insert which has a tad more dash clearance. If that doesn't work then it wasn't meant to be. Feel free to ship back the holder for a refund or I can swap it for another blank plug plus reimburse for the cost difference. I had a guy (first person to receive the bezel) last week decide to switch the cb mic holder to the left side and a tab broke off in removal. He let me know and I went back to my prototype and started yanking and reinstalling the plug. Sure enough on the 4th exchange I cracked a tab. I was so worried about perfect fitment that I forgot about the ability to remove and reinstall the tabs over and over. I quickly added 30% thickness to the tabs and added a needed curvature and filet to the tab and made a new one. I was able to install and remove that one many times without breakage. Unfortunately I had already shipped the first batch. Most of you ordered a bezel with no plugs so this doesn't affect you but about a dozen of you ordered plugs or mic holders (which use the same tabs). If you have a plug that you remove to reinstall in another spot or at a later time and it breaks, just let me know and I will quickly get you a new one (with updates) in the mail. I stand behind my products and if something fails I will make it right. The last batch that shipped out already has the updates so I'm really only talking about the first 1/2 of the orders with inserts that went out. You also want to realize that it takes some force to install the cb mount. The gamiviti one I had used for dimensions snapped into place with little force. At first I thought this was a good thing and made my version fit the same. Then after I installed a CB into the gamiviti holder and gave it a yank it just popped right off the bezel. Mine did the same. I then pushed the tabs out some more and did that again until I had a prototype that snapped in well and with good force I could not pull the tab out from the front. That also means that I'm putting a lot more force on the tabs to get the tighter fit which is where the problem occurred. I didn't want to remove that force since it was making a needed improvement on the original design so my only option was to beef up the tabs which I have now done. Just had to find the right balance of force and strength on the CB holder and the correct strength on the tabs as well. Sorry for the mistake but I WILL make it right if anyone in the near of distant future has an issue.
