I find it odd that we can buy the older style light ( underneath the plate ), but not the newer style.

I don't think you can call me a purist. I believe we should all build our trucks to suit us. I like all the different ways we design and build these old beasts. I do try to use Toyota parts, just not necessarily from the year or model of my truck. And using sae fasteners make my terrets flair up. So maybe I am partly a purist.

I appreciate you looking. If you find one, let me know what I owe you.
I found one set you can have them if you can use them. They are pretty rough.
I'll dig around more tomorrow and see if I can find the other set

Kidding Craig, kidding😄

I do find it funny sometimes the things some guys fret over being “factory” and other things that they don’t mind sliding on.
Like, “Yeah my dash is totally unmollested. And over here is my Chevy V8 with automatic tranny.”
Or, “I retained my F engine because it’s period correct. And over here is a pic of my 36 Autometer gauges keeping track of vitals.”
Or, “An FJ55 simply just isn’t right unless it’s sporting it’s factory correct paint. Inside you can see my Corbeau seats, power windows, and power door locks.”

I find it pretty funny 😄
Not being judgemental, just observational.

Thanks J Mack, let me know what you find.

Rush55, I appreciate your observations and I know there is no judgement being passed. I look forward to seeing your truck back on the road or better yet, off road. I think that us like minded FJ55 owners don't fret over the factory things because we are the factory!
