This is a 1971 FJ40 that belongs to a customer of mine and I am helping him list it for sale. The 40 is in great overall shape and driven on a regular basis. It has an extensive service history with receipts going back to 1988. In the last 10 years it has been serviced exclusively by Preservation Land Cruisers, ACC Toyota, and Red Line Motorsports with receipts totaling over $40k.

Basics:
1971 FJ40 with original 1F motor, 3spd on the tree, drum brakes, manual steering

Recent service/ upgrade highlights:
  1. Dirt Roads premium reproduction Factory Soft top
  2. Restored FST doors with all new seals and plexi-glass
  3. Real Steel FST bows
  4. New BFG all-terrains
  5. New upholstery on front and rear seats
  6. OEM distributor with pertronix ignition conversion
  7. Rebuilt carburetor
  8. Man-a-fre headers
  9. Rebuilt rear differential
  10. New clutch, rear main
  11. Rebuild of transmission and transfer case
  12. Rebuilt front axle
  13. Rebuilt center arm
  14. Rust repair and repaint

This 40 is ready to hop in and be driven as is. It really needs nothing to be enjoyable as an everyday driver. Has a strong motor, transmission shifts smoothly, and the brakes stop great. The owner is asking $25,000 OBO. Please reach out to me directly and I am happy to answer any questions and talk in depth about this great FJ40.

Thanks,
JP

Actually the only thing that’s holding me back is that very thing. Seller hasn’t chimed in much so it may already be sold. Just a guess
3 on tree is THE reason to buy a truck like this, along with the rest of the package. If you're just putting around town, they are great. I love mine. It's also a fantastic theft deterrent. Very surprised this truck is still on the market at this price point, seems like a steal to me.

Yeah, I understand your point. I just prefer the feel of rowing my own gears. But totally understand where you’re coming from, some may prefer 3 on the tree much more.

It has found a home with a long-time ih8mud member!

My son is already throughly enjoying it in central florida. JP is awesome (in case anyone didn't already know), he was more than willing to take the time to walk me through the work that had been done in recent years and any known issues. When I got there on hour 8 of what turned into a 24 hr road trip there were no surprises and I appreciate that.
