When I drained out the water I went ahead and Zepp Orange and pressure washed the motor washing the last of the Saudi hay out of the cowl. @Meshal tells me this was used to haul hay, hence the missing tailgate chains

The water over there does not have the pollutants our tap water has and it comes out clean. I usually use green coolant on my early trucks but this one is new enough for Red.

Added some Holley retrobright lights only to find out, like a FJ60 these 70s need a negative polar adapter. I just sent for one from Amazon

Dan Martz sent me a 79 series bed mount for the spare.

I was curious as to what you were gonna do with the spare.

I’m torn to do the bed mounted spare or see if my 35/10.5/17 will fit under the bed in the original location. When taking a quick measurement it looks like the frame is wide enough.
It will fit under there and will likely help the ride a little with it under there but I like the looks and accessibility of it in the bed personally.

Nolen,

Anything to watch out for while spraying the engine bay? I have wanted to do it on all my vehicles but always worried it would damage something.

I always pressure wash my motors. Just don’t spend a lot of time near the distributor.

From Zep (highlights mine):
Color: Orange
  • Great To Use On: Appliances, Grills, Stovetops, Concrete, Tools, Engines, Fiberglass, Aluminum, Stainless Steel And Kitchen Surfaces.
  • Do Not Use On: Glass, Acrylic Glass, Plastics, Auto Paint, Leather Or Natural Stone Surfaces.

I have noticed that it can dull the gloss on painted surfaces. The Zep Purple doesn't come with those warnings, but I still don't leave it on for too long.
Color: Purple
  • For Heavy Machinery, Engine Parts & Tools
  • Use On Shop Floors & Work Surfaces
  • Works On Unfinished Concrete & Metal

I spray things down with the cleaner - a pump sprayer makes application easy. Let it soak for awhile, maybe scrub a bit where it's really grungy, and then pressure wash it all off. Giving it some time to dry off also helps keep the electrical gremlins at bay.

As Nolen says, don't hit electrical parts too hard with the pressure washer. Same goes for carbs and such that you wouldn't want to get water into. I used to put plastic bags over things like that, but over time found that if I was careful about where I was spraying and how hard I could get away without them.

Full strength, it's definitely crazy strong. They recommend to dilute 5 fl. oz. per gallon of water for light work and 20 fl. oz. per gallon of water for heavy dirt. Also, don't let it dry on anything. Keep it wet until you wash it off.

I could tell that just from your food pictures! 🤣

Hello,

I just noticed you have a clutch booster and the newer model charcoal canister. Very nice.

Keep up the good work.

I’m 99% sure all that is stock. Nothing looks added or molested on this truck
