It's been interesting (depressing) riding the lifts in Telluride over the years. I remember when the hippies were worried that the tourists would harsh their chill back in the 70's, and you could still find a few miners around that hated the hippies. Somewhere in there the dirtbags became the new locals and came to hate the Californicators moving in with their money and rules. Then the Californians are now the new locals, I guess, hating the miners and hippies and wannabe dirtbags.
Circle of life?

Work in Telluride for a few years and you might see it in a different light. It is one of the best towns that I worked in and it is quite a typical small mountain town. It is not like Vail or Aspen in my opinion. I am still partial to Ouray but I never could find steady work on that side of the mountain.

It's funny how so many talk trash about Californians and don't realize they there form Indiana or some other place. As a born and raised California I rarely meet another native.
Most of the people here moved here for our good paying jobs, great weather and great local produce,fruits, meat,and wine.
Then they CASH out on there Real estate and move on !! There's a reason they call it the Golden State

IMO if your hating on Californians your just hating on everyone

Do know why Oklahoma has the funny thin finger as part of their state ? Colorado gave it to them so we wouldn't have to touch Texas !!! .. But you got a great looking doggo

I actually lived in Colorado as a ranch hand a few years before I ended up in Texas. I realized Texans must not be so bad if they were hated on par with Californians.

I meant no offense, and I certainly don’t hate based on where someone’s from. I thought the point of the story was more along the lines of how the people in the majority at any given time thought they had always been in the majority and they all resisted change to “their” way, whether the new ways were better or worse.

My AC works great as long as I add a can every few months or so.
