H1 recentered beadlocks??

noooo. Just a set of soft 8s and diy beadlocks i picked up earlier this year.

rebuild or beefing up of skid pending, will pull it and see what my options are.

Dunno if you can make it work, but I'll be selling my BudBuilt dual case skid pretty soon and going to the Front Range crossmember. I can even make you a deal on the skid and a case or two if you'd like. :)

So i pulled the skid plate on Sunday with the idea of bending it back into shape and reinforcing it. I got out the sledge hammer and got it perty close but for the life of me I could not get the bolt holes to line up, who'da guessed that?

After awhile I decided it was just too much trouble so out with the old and coming soon will be a new and improved version.

Ted, I do have a tube crossmember that's never been used if you're interested. Set up for single case, not duals. Patrick built it for my project truck way back when but I removed it to use or sell a few years ago. I can bring it this weekend if you wanna see it.

appreciate it but already chest deep into the rebuild. TRoss suggested a flat belly which I'd love to do but it's more than I care to take on right now. That said, I have raised the tranny/t-case about an inch during the rebuild so see how that goes.

finally got the new skid finished today but not before adding a little flesh and blood to the parts list.

don't scroll down if you're squeamish

The grinder reached out and bit me.

Nice one. Been there and done it. Tips of the finger are about the worst.
 to a speedy recovery!

Dang Ted, that sucks. That will make it hard to type. Guess you will have some real short post on Mud for the next few months.

That'll leave a mark!

Grinder hits are horrible. They're like all the bad injuries in one: it's a burn, it's a cut, it's a scrape.... :crybaby:

Yeah, Hurts too! to add insult to injury I threw down the grinder and broke it when it happened.

Carny winner

moving on...
Results of the pound of flesh. If you happen to see this in person kindly roll me back over please.

By the way Ted, after some searching today, I discovered that the PVC idea will not work with stock Toyota tubing. Just FYI.

As discussed last night John cries foul on this!! that's not exactly the way he put it but I'm being polite for a change.

My birfield replacing days are officially over (I hope), already installed.

Talked to John about it. Our driveshafts are very different sizes - but we both think they're stock tube :meh:

Mine is 2 3/8" ID & 2 5/8" OD. John's is 2 15/16" OD and is perfect for the idea. He's gonna measure yours and Dave's and I'm gonna measure the few 1st gen's I have around and we'll see what we find out. I just hope the idea works! :bounce:

yeah that's what he said. I'll bet mine is the same as Dave's as we both had DS replaced at the same shop. John also said his was 2 15/16 diameter an then necked down to about the 2 5/8 near one end, kind of odd but I think my original DS did this too if I remember correctly. :hhmm:
