I agree with the need for variety, and to the reason as well (subtopic - why were there so many variants of green for the 40?). Need three people to jump from
rustic green to red, or 6 new voters, and we get our variety.
And the hats this year are gonna be
suh-weeet….😬

Special thanks to Jimmy @CenTXFJ60 for managing this.

I'll keep the Poll open for one more week. Please vote for your favorite color. You guys get to choose so get after it.
There have been 8k views of this thread in just over 2 weeks but only 83 votes. Tell your friends and family to vote. This is an open poll so if you are on the waitlist you can vote as well. To keep it interesting I will turn the ability to view results off in a few days and reveal the winner once closed.

@POTATO LAUNCHER This has nothing to do with this discussion…but…🙉🙈

I just checked the weather in your area…snowing & single digits, WOW,

I agree with both! Mustard or Freeborn... we might need to combine forces..

Team Mustard... the enemy of my enemy is my friend...

The Jolly Greens won't stop....Time to support the Freeborns... I'm changing my vote...

I'm on the first page of the thread advocating for red, I'm old school.

It's time for the mustards to join us and become ... FREEBORN. Together we can defeat the green axis. YEAR OF THE 60!

Freeborn this year and Mustard next.

I’ll paint my rig more red if people vote Freeborn 😆

Hey guys - tech question for those of you at the higher elevations.

I currently live at sea level (San Diego), run a 2F with a Weber 38/38 carb. My setup works well for me out here, mostly off road in the desert.

The question is, am I going to hate retuning this carb for elevation during SAS? Are any of you running these weber's up in the mountains?

Or should I be looking at making a switch to a different carb?

I have a "high elevation kit" for my weber, but I admit that i've never opened the box since I haven't taken this 40 to the mountains yet.

Went through this in my first trip. Bring that kit and drop a jet when you get to Ouray. You'll also want to bump timing to about 12*. It'll run like a top. Just remember to undo that when you leave town.

Good to hear you did well with it. I already run 10-12*, so I should just be able drop jet sizes. I'd rather not mess with something that isn't broken at the moment, so this is ideal.

Thanks!

I sold my 1993 Toyota Hiace today which is very sad because of all the great memories we had in it but also very good news for me having a front locker, knuckle rebuild, and onboard air by the time SAS comes around.

Shame as that thing looks awesome.

For those attending for the first time, here's a video from last year that I put together. Great times with great friends. I'm in site 113 this year. I'll be there early on 7/30 if anyone is around. Site 113 will once again house any refugees from 47-51 who find themselves running afoul of the powers that be and are looking to lay low till the dust clears. Viva Le Resistance. There will be bourbon.

The color choice poll will be open for another 12 hours from now. Looks like Freeborn Red is pulling ahead.
