I took some more tame action shots of the Karma Cruiser at Pismo this year, complete with Hendog riding shotgun.

I like dem Hendog shots!!!

Well, now that the karma cruiser is back on the road again with Mike's not-so-old 2F engine in it, it's back to customizing!

I have really been enjoying the improved ride quality of the blue 45 since I installed the sound deadening materials before Lone Star Roundup last year. So now I am in the process of adding materials to the Karma Cruiser. Which means I can start thinking about floormats!

A little light bulb went off in my head, and I went digging in my garage for some very special mats that I had squirreled away a LONG time ago. FOUND THEM!

I pulled these out of a rig I parted back in early '89, the same rig I got the Tru Tracs from that are featured in that opening shot from the Rubithon '89 article.

Now the next question is if I go all out and install the NOS K-C dayligher covers with the 'Keep On Truckin' picture on them!

May we assume that the stereo is an 8-track?

For as retro as the truck is overall, I in fact installed a new stereo last Friday with...heaven help me...Bluetooth! Now I'm trying to figure out how to graft a mount onto the glovebox grab bar for...are you ready for this....the iPad!

Thank goodness I've still got the three on the tree.

I think the Techno-curmudgeon needs to change his sig line.

Fast forward six years, and I realize I have not kept up on the further adventures of the Karma Cruiser.

I have had to do virtually no maintenance on it since I got it (if you don’t count the ‘temporary ‘ engine install 6 years ago). This confirms what I told my family 33 years ago when I started wading into a seemingly unending process of dealing with deferred maintenance on Ruftoys: a vehicle has a finite number of parts: sooner or later it will be reliable.

While I was deep into powder coating parts for @DSB345 and @SW20 a couple of years ago I had the Conferr rack blasted and coated and replaced the original clamps with Mark’s Off Road repops.

I just put a fresh coat of varnish on the deck today, and that reminded me to try and find this old thread.

If only there were a way to link the Toyota Trails article on it.
