looking at the pics of the frame height on the lifted springs looks like up front it didnt quite lower it an inch but out back it was over 4":eek:

What's the lenth mount to mount on the ground

well i used the old spring plates and swapped sides with em so the lower mount is currently to high as it is above the spring packs, i need to cut them off and move em down on the axle tube. I may actually be somewhat close with stock uppers up front if i can get the lower to mount behind the axle in the middle of the tube, issue with that is clearance. then once i get steering stops on again even less room.

Damn. I think that thing looks great. It would probably look better with some 38x11.50 boggers, though.

I love your disclaimer about not jacking up a tire to test flex.

Wanna lend me those 33's for this weekend?:hillbilly: Are you gonna be making it out there?

prolly could work something out if you need em.

and no i wont be making it out, cant afford it right now, so i will be going to a surprise birthday for one of my friends instead.

im hoping for taller, and the 11.50 is a little skinny for me id like at least a 12.50.

and yea i felt it kinda important, i had it in 4lo and the hubs locked to help keep the tire from turning. on the way down it moved just enough to push the jack out and came down on my fail safe 35 under the slider i also had a jack stand under the diff to help but it moved that as well.

i drove it today, it still has a vibration from the shaft not being true anymore. got pics of yours? and how did you go about making sure it was true?... ish.

I found pipe with a id of the od the the stock shaft .... but mines a trailer queen its never been over 45 ;)

Have you thought of running military tires? They seem to be pretty cheap and work well.

Well, hell yea. I'm all for bigger. Can't wait to see which one you settle on. I remember when you first got Fiona and she was just a *little* baby cruiser. Now she's turning into a monster...

Lol yea me too! i thought she was the bomb then too!

I actually found a couple of pictures of your truck from a year or 2 ago when you sent me pictures of your sliders, as well as a couple of shots of brokenparts truck when he cut his fenders a couple years back.

ok yall ready for this?!

i got the first non drive way pictures today!!

nothing crazy just playin around in an open lot where a building used to be but still had concrete walls to play with.

first i started here to check things out and get some pics

1.) RR starting to invert a little
2.) LR still looks like it has some droop left by shackle angle
3.) it was pretty soft just my weight on standing on the grass i would drop about an inch or so, obviously the truck sank a goot bit more.

YOU NEED 37'S AND KEEP IT CLEAN :steer:

lookin good BTW

1.) just another angle, you can kinda see the depth of sinkage.
2.) it wasnt bad but i figured i could still do better...

3.) so i pulled forward some more and the wall got taller and i stuffed the LF another 2 inches or so.

1-14-09 8.webp
1-14-09 9.webp

1.) starting to look like some real flex now!
2.) not a whole lot left judging shackle angles... but still some...
3.) she is still sitting pretty level, which is a really nice change for the amount of lift.

1.) as you can see really quite level
2.) :D
3.) Id say the spring is inverted pretty good, that is a bone stock un modified FJ62 spring

I still really felt like she still had more flex in her tho as it wasnt leaning to bad and still felt reasonably stable.

1.) so i pulled forward some more, doesnt look like i gained any more stuff up front but maybe a little more droop in the rear.
2.) absolutely beautiful.
3.) :grinpimp::grinpimp:

dont let the pictures fool you that LF is every bit of 33" off of the ground with all 3 others still on the ground after taking in account of the inch or so of tire sinkage due to the mud.

and if you look at the first picture remember that is a 33" tire inside of that wheel well and i plan on runnin 37-40's. I feel like that much travel with tires that large will take me pretty much any place i aim her at.

So did you finsih the 2f-e??? Never saw the end result or a finished writeup.......

not yet, still out of a job for the time being, i did the SOA since i had all the expensive stuff already and really only needed the perches. and a couple of cut off disk and grinding disk. oh and i had to buy some more welding wire. :meh:

1.) RF is lower than the retaining wall the LF is on top of
2.) it was muddier than i thought. lol if you look real close you can see i banged the lower portion of the pumpkin as i decided to try and just back up a little and climb the wall to get out, it left a decent dent in it  but no ring gear interference. I cant believe i havent banged it up worse than that by now. need to do some diff protection either way before i hit any rocks
3.) I think this height is gonna work for me pretty well given the flex it has and also my target tire size.

1.) the butt
2.) other side. you can kinda see some blue smoke as she idles... gotta love the 5 banger.
3.) i think she looks good even tho the tires are to small

last one

over all im pretty pleased, she drives as well as can be expected with no shocks and no steering stabilizer. i think if it had the stabilizer it would be decent other than being bouncy, but the 2 combined make for something i would not want to drive at freeway speeds on a bumpy road, not to mention my rear shaft is still bent so at about 50 or so i get a good little vibration but it is manageable.

after shocks, ram assist / steering stabilizer, and fixing rear shaft i think it will do just fine on the street. I think caster is in a decent place but with the other issues still hard to judge tho.

lots of flex and looks damn sexy.
