thanks man i appreciate it.
the 33's will def not be staying under it and i have for sure decided to pull the OME spring out from under it and will be running some stock FJ62 springs i have that are in good shape and hopefully that will get it down enough for me.

You should just humor me and put some factory size tires on it (275/35R15's)

Then again.....who wants to run some 28's on a SOA?

you mean 235/75-15 ;)

side note, for a little random info.

on metric style tire sizes the first number signifies the width in millimeters, the second number is the percentage of the width in millimeters and that is the sidewall height, the "R" would signify a radial tire (contrary to popular beliefs that it means "rim") then the last and final number is the rim size in inches.

on flotation tires they are a little different (tho seemingly self explanatory)

for example a 33x12.50-15

first number is the height in inches, second number in width in inches, and third number is rim size in inches.

but there are some exceptions to the flotation size layout.

for example (and again self explanatory i think) a 14/42-15

the first number is width in inches, second is tire height in inches, and third is rim diameter in inches.

and now maybe some of you learned something. if you didnt, then i dont really care i just felt like sharing.:flipoff2:

Land Cruisers should have come from the factory with SOA done.
Do you feel like doing a SOA for me...??

yea i can, but i think it is a bit of a drive for ya.

well went to a friends today and picked up what i thought was gonna be a set of stock 85 FJ60 springs, come to find out both front and rear spring packs have had leafs removed 3 leafs from the rear and 2 or 3 from the front... i was slightly disappointed to say the least, none the less i took em home and made the best of it.

i had a complete set of FJ62 springs and i was wanting the long spring from the FJ60 to add as an add a leaf but so it would not add as much lift or as much spring rate and they would be plenty flexy still. well on the rear 62 springs i had taken 2 out to add to my 40 since apparently some genius P.O. had taken leafs from the rear pack of the 40...

anyhow so after i robbed the 60 packs to make a complete packs out back i then took the 2nd longest leaf from the 60 (one with military wrap) cut off the wraps and used it for the added leaf. come to find i was still missing the second to the shortest leaf but i figure being it so short it wont make a big difference.

ok well took the packs apart and decided to clean em up and paint em then after cleaned and all painted i will grease em and re assemble.

on the paint i decided to continue on with the running theme of painted things...

I did however leave the spot where the part numbers are at un touched since i thought it cool the numbers were so easily visible still, also it will add a little difference to the springs from the painted to the un painted.

Well since everything is bigger + louder in Texas, I suppose it would have been blasphemy to paint the springs black:lol:

It's gonna look sick when it's all back together.

lol, yea chevy orange is the color of choice that can be found on my rear third and diff cover, and the drive shaft with blue candy cane stripes, then saftey yellow drums. (i will also be doing knuckles, and front drive shaft with stripes to match rear, and a few other things as well as they become available.)
I will also be pulling my hood and painting a japenese flag on it and where the red is it will be.... yup, chevy orange. LOL

Wow I though it was red primer

Hahahahahaha, nice. Your 60 is going to have more Chevy traditional colors on it than most modern Chevys.

Doing the flag like Crusified?

and i aint scared of pink, tho i dont honestly remember seeing pink engine paint.. ill have to look next time im there, im sure i can find something to paint pink.

ok well painted the other side of the springs then finished cleaning another pack and got 1 side of them painted as well.

1.) one of the rear packs assembled and greased up
2.) the side i left un painted cause you can see the part numbers (stupid i know :flipoff2: yall)
3.) then decided to replace the u joint in the rear drive shaft.

it was pretty bad, only 1 cup had any thing that resembled some sort of lube, then obviously part of the cup and joint were gone.

I did get the new joint in and drive line bolted up but i damaged one of the caps in the process... it has a lifetime warranty so i figure in a year or so ill replace it and not half ass it (yoke was bent and instead of lining it up properly i forced the joint in and cracked cap on opposing side.:meh:) that said if this wasnt my truck i would not have let that slide and would have made 100% sure all parts were in correctly with no issues and would have straightened the yoke back out.

and thats all i got done today i slept all day and didnt start working on it till like 3 pm so i didnt have much daylight. I hope to get my lazy ass up earlier tomorrow and finish the other rear pack and get the OME leafs out and the fancy bling bling ones in. and HOPEFULLY (but not likely) have both front packs cleaned and painted and ready to go in day after tomorrow.
