Wow that's a Fawked up joint

Wow that's a Fawked up joint

yea...
guess that explains why my drive shaft was making so much noise at round up and had a vibration that would shake your teeth loose at anything above 15mph :hillbilly:

I apparently clipped a rock or something down in mason and left a nice little gouge in the drive line... guess we will see how long it will last before i twist it off. Should prolly pick up a spare for when it goes south in the middle of a trail as it is a ticking time bomb now.

i drove it today, it still has a vibration from the shaft not being true anymore. got pics of yours? and how did you go about making sure it was true?... ish.

1.) got the bling rear springs on the rig
2.) current ride height on 33's
3.) and with the 35's for comparison

for Joel
1.) one of the 35's
2.) what all the 33's look like
3.) I did wheel the 33's at mason at about 8 psi, they did pretty well, no major chunks missing this is prolly the worst.

1.) what the 33's look like.
2.) the worst condition 35 (it was a spare but a side wall puncture put it into duty)
3.) this shoulder has a little more wear than the rest of the tire, it is still above the wear bars tho, wear bar pictured (tho i know you know tires being where you work and all)

1.) other side as you can see more rubber
2.) another of the 35's (i have a tread depth gauge around here if you wanna see the numbers, 3 of the 35's are about 7-8/32nds i think and the 33's are closer to 11-12/32nds both are 12.50 wide and 15" wheel)
3.) you can see the wear bar here (we all know the wear bars are 2/32nds above being a slick)

1.) 35" thread pattern
2.) the one siped one
3.) me being stupid and dangerous wanting to get an idea of flex

the jack was maxed out here but still had more to go (these were with modified stocks out back and OME up front still)

1.) stupid OME springs
2.) with flash
3.) lift of jack maxed out. SUA i could get 1 tire up 30 inches (maybe a tad more) with other 3 still on flat ground...

1.) 33...
2.) 35...
3.) front height

and thats all for today, overall id does sit lower and im much happier with the height it rides at now, i will still be moving spring perches around to better my shackle angle and move rear axle back, but for the time being i think it will work pretty well.

now i need to get some shocks on there, and get the gear box off so i can drill and tap for ram assist and get ram mounted. then it will pretty much be wheelable again for a bit.

front ride height is right around 28.5" at bottom of frame to ground and rear is like right at 30" so swapping springs did bring it down a good bit so not a waste of time IMO.

How long of shocks The 35 look better... I'll see whAt I can work out on the othertires for ya

not really sure how long a shock i need still... the ones i have currently i ran with it SUA are a hair over 12" travel up front (i think rears are the same) and my flex was limited by them when SUA now with SOA i dont know what kind of travel i will have yet, Im thinking with placement of the tabs in the right place i can make them work, if not some 14"ers will be on the list.

EDIT:
just remembered i need to do the ford towers up front other wise nothing will work right and have enough travel, so either way ill need 2 front shocks.

on the tires i agree, but id like to put them on my black wheels with 2.5" BS but i guess they will be ok on the others for now.
