First tench, I drove out of it.

In the east coast, we call this spotting. Forms stronger bonds. I did use the winch to pull me down from this one. No sense in risking it.

Third trench was dug out by the buggy on 52s. Had no tires on the ground, just had to drag up on the skid plates like a sled. This is why I like smooth belly skids. I still don’t know where Bud got an ice cream from? The after clean up was stupid. I had mud packed so thick, on top of the rear diff that it took 5 minutes of direct water blasting to shoot it off.

Fourth trench was 20 feet deep with a 30° slope. Just had enough slider to keep the earth from crushing in the side of the truck. Thank god for kickers.

Im growing in my excitement to pick up my rig next week with the BB Stage 4 Overland Alum installed! Not sure I'll go looking for "sledding" trails though... Definitely need Slee to speed up those LX Sliders !!

You should do 2 inch nitrogen bump stops it the front . You have the talent and those bump stop towers are bagging for it imho. I havent seen a great place in the rear.

It’s funny...because here in San Diego, one of the first tip-offs that a truck is probably a total poser...is if it has crazy-bad mud tires. -Because we just don’t have much of it around here (with a few exceptions I can personally attest to!).

But man, That is some legit mud!!
Sheesh.

Looks like some crazy fun terrain too...but a bit drier might be nice... Guess you take it as it comes. :)

Great photos, by the way, @Taco2Cruiser !!

Cleaning some gumbo mud out from under the 200 and found out you can send a hose all the way through the frame rails. This makes me pretty happy for the longevity of the frame.

Ahh... filtered water. From the deepest aquifer of a Cruiser frame strait to you. I should bottle this stuff.

Quick question, Taco: what happened to the plan to chop the rear receiver to get a better departure angle? It's been a while but I remember you entertaining this, yes?

It’s still happening, but I wanted to pause my own stuff and focus on some other things here at BudBuilt.

I’ve also had a lot of “soul searching” when it comes to my 200. It is very easy for me to make it the most over the top 200 out there... but do I really want that or am I doing it for the masses?

For me, and this took awhile, no. I don’t.

So I left the idea of the rear bumper for a bit and planned for some other changes. But now, I’m back on the rear bar idea, as that’s something that still would make my happy. And I’m more than willing to buy a current offering, I just haven’t seen anything that I like functionally or ascetically.

Rob is that just a shadow or a broken weld?

Above the hose, round tube , maybe 1.5" dia where it terminates against frame?

Looks like it’s just wet and looks black.

Factory rear lower control arms.

These things are strong, anything stronger, and you’ll move the shear point from the control arm to the frame and axle housing mounts. Not sure why anyone would replace these.

No worries, but were you talking about the slider leg?

Side note for everyone. Your welds should look like your dick. Big, no bumps, with full penetration.

I’m always in awe with how much splatter I see out there. How much pretty welds that under inspection, don’t even penetrate. Guys not understanding their materials and settings. Sorry for the rant, I had a truck come in this week with someone’s sliders, and they came off in exchange for our.

So I did what Taco knows best, annnndd cut them apart. Sad, no penetration.

Speaking of cutting apart. Factory rear lower control arms.

Yes sir, that was the spot. I have since learned to make pics bigger to prevent old guy inserting foot in mouth.
