In Star Valley, Wyoming. About an hour South of Jackson Hole.
Ah, I think maybe you told me that before.
That would be a hike from these parts...
Maybe I could meet up with @greenbeast , and we could make us a convoy - a Pig convoy...

my 79 fj40 had an AC unit under the dash that looked kinda like what is in the 55. When I bought the 40 the PO told me it was dealer installed air. Unfortunately, all the engine side components were gone and the interior AC unit was cracked and in poor shape. I removed it. Fortunately, when I've driving the 40 in the summer I'd just as soon have my windows open anyway.
Take off the top!!!

Sounds like awesome idea!!

Seems like the wife and I stopped at a little hole in wall hot springs pool one time south of Jackson Hole. Had a nice waterfall close to it, only ones there except for the owner who made pool around hot springs. That was 25+ years ago, I am sure it has changed some, seems like there may have been a girl scout's campground in the vicinity..

Pretty cool you were able to knock that out at work!

Yeah, it's really nice. I bought a building in town for office space for my business. It was an old main street variety store built in the 50s that had a basement. I didn't need the basement space and my bro has a bunch of professional woodworking tools, so we moved them in and made a woodshop and a paint booth for tinkering around (my bro is a skilled woodworker). So yeah, in between phone calls and work things I'd do coats of paint on my parts small enough to fit through a man door. My other bro restored a good part of his 45 in that booth too.

Sounds like Granite Hot springs just south east of Hoback Junction. In the winter we have ridden snow machines in the 20 miles or so to swim in the hot pool. Good times. I need to take the cruiser up there in the summer.

Yes, that too! Currently the 40 is dismantled for some rust repair and a rebuilt motor. Trying to get it back together and sorted for this summer.
Wonder how many other PIG owners also have a 40 project? Plenty of frustration last night when trying to match up panels putting mine back together. nothing lining up...when I wasn't floundering like a beached whale on the floor of shop!!

Looked up Granite falls and that was definitely it, sounds like it may have gotten a little busier since we stopped in.

Used to travel through the Star Valley a lot in the late ‘70s/early 80s. How many others know the tri cities of Thayne, Grover and Smoot. Great cheese too.

I too have memories of stopping at the cheese factory in Thayne on my way to scout camp back in the 80s. Unfortunately, Star Valley Cheese shut down about 20 years ago. Finally tore the building down about 5 years ago and just built a Napa in that spot. Our little valley is changing a lot with so many people working from home. Lots of folks from California moving to the Thayne area and Alpine is exploding due to property values sky rocketing in Jackson Hole. Years ago we were up here visiting my parents and went up to a popular lake on the 4th of July. We were the only people there - which influenced our decision to move here. These days we try to avoid those places on a holiday. I get it, beautiful place so we wanted to move here too years ago. But a bit of a bummer at the same time.

Sounds like our move to Steamboat. Kids raised, mission complete now onto next chapter!

That's not good to hear. I just removed my fenders last night. I have some NOS front fenders going back on. Sounds like I should expect a challenge ahead huh?

My plan was finish the 55, then restore the 40, then the 60. But we'll see if I'm just burned out after the 40. 60 really just need a little touch up in a couple of spots.

Just check my sig line!
I got the 40 before the Pig, but went to work on the Pig body before the 40...

Ditto, that pig got me caught in its web and everything went to hell around it... I can't leave the yellow 40 here when we put house up for sale and the PIG currently gone so have to work on the 40 again!

That’s the old SOR rollcage kit, had the same one in my old ‘79. It also had the same AC, had always thought it was stock but guess it was the dealer add-on of the period (mine was also a factory PS truck). Really cool to see the stock ‘79 grill paint @cruiserdan , I had done the pewter as well and always thought the letters looked off. When I built mine I was able to get a set of the old @Awl_TEQ extenders, they were built off the originals from @cruiser_guy and fit perfect on the frame rails. Great looking Piggy 🐷

New plates.

My daughter came home for the weekend and wanted to drive the 55 into town for a grocery run. It was a beautiful day for cruising. Adjusted the valves, replaced spark plugs, wires and rotor earlier in the week. It's running nice and smooth.
