For comparison purposes here is a factory A/C dash unit. This is a right hand drive vehicle so the temperature control wheel is to the right of the vents. Reverse that in your mind for left hand drive.

my 79 fj40 had an AC unit under the dash that looked kinda like what is in the 55. When I bought the 40 the PO told me it was dealer installed air. Unfortunately, all the engine side components were gone and the interior AC unit was cracked and in poor shape. I removed it. Fortunately, when I've driving the 40 in the summer I'd just as soon have my windows open anyway.

These pics are great @residualboulders . Thank you for sharing. I'm so glad @bobm and I have another good looking Blue Pig to ogle over. I'm been over at the PP22 thread and after looking at @residualboulders pics, maybe we need to do a PP in Wyoming.

Beautiful pics, I live in the mountains and all I can think is that area is beautiful!!

How well does the AC work on your 55? I have same set up on my parts pig and haven't ruled out swapping to the 69 project "sow". I probably ruined the entire drive from Durango to Grand Junction last year with iron oxide while pulling the parts pig home. That after brief stop in Silverton which from the pics does not show where we marked our area there!

I don’t know, Colorado is pretty epic too. My AC works great. I mean it’s not like a modern car but keeps it cool. I debated even charging it as I rarely use it here. Mainly just to make sure it still works from time to time.

@Hank Tank thanks, you both have awesome rigs too.

Moving to Oklahoma in 3 months and I sweat enough in the cold. AC imperative as the wife and I intend on cruising the south in it when we aren't at kids activities. I am usually a windows down kinda guy around here.

We call windows down "third world air."

So great to see all these, thanks for taking the time.

One question, do you have a picture of the winch mount without the bumper covering it?

Cheers

I found this picture of the behind the bumper winch mount from when I was prepping to paint.
