Does anybody know where I can find a Video on how to remove the rear axles so I can replace the bearings and seals? I have done the front bearings and seals and knuckle bearings already, plenty of videos on the front but not the rear. I looked on youtube but its either the wrong series of LC or not even a Toyota at all!

This one.

Just did this a few weeks ago.
Don't let the leaf springs fool you.
It shows full float rear axle tear down.

Depends on WHAT YEAR your LC is. 91-92 (and I think some 93) are semi-float rear axle. Late 93+ are full float rear axle. Big difference in construction.

I don't see what year your truck is.

No matter the year, if you did your front yourself just unbolt it & break it down.

There's like 8 parts on either end of the axle shell.

All you need it the tightening torques. And the 3 prong SST,or any you make yourself.

Full float will have ABS, and rear disk brakes, non full float will be non ABS, and drum rear brakes IIRC.

If you already tackle the front, Rear is a piece of cake. You don't need Vid. Be brave. Lay your parts in sequence as you taking it off and take pictures.

It's a no-brainer. Do this & lay on some clean surface, cardboard, butcher paper whatever. With tightening torques in hand you'll be better than a generic shop.

Get at it.

@RedJed78 i would be interested to know what is pushing you to do this. Are your bearings shot? If so what mileage? Or maybe this is just some preventative maintenance routine.

@Stretched For me, It turned out to be exploratory surgery.
1. I had no maint record of anyone ever going in there so was curious.

2. But mainly, there was a squeaky noise that was coming from the RR wheel that sounded like a bad bearing.

2.5 the PO used red loctite on the wheel stud so it sheared off, and needed to replace them.

3. Training day for the fronts!!!

After I got it apart, I found the source of the noise was a bent hold down spring pin on the parking brake shoe that would rub on the inside of the wheel, and the bearings and the grease were both freshly newish. (Hence exploratory surgery).

I am serving my rear axle bearings and seals. I followed the video in this thread. For the seal in the hub, it does NOT show a lip as he taps it in. So I installed it lip side INSIDE the hub. Got it all bolted back together, and took the other hub off and notice the lip faces out!
