Replacement for 84222-12010 switch (1 Viewer)

As you know the 84222-12010 fails pretty often on our trucks. Its located on the transfer case, as well as the lockers, and causes the indicator on the dash to blink even when they're working. I recently had the one on the rear locker fail on mine and wanted a cheaper alternative than 60 bucks, so her you go. NAPA Pt# NS6421. Its a neutral safety/reverse light switch found on many toyotas and is exactly the same as the 84222-12010. Retail price is 22.49

Is this the same switch that is on the top right of the transfer case? Is it plug and play, same quality as Toyota OEM??

Nice find! -- wish I knew this a month back when I had a 3rd member shipped over & back to Carl / justdifferentials -- I had the plastic shroud flattened in transit on my switch & had to buy a new one.

Oh well, I guess I kept Dan in Keystone & the dogs needed food too.

I got one from Rock Auto. Selected a 2000 Tacoma, 2.7L, Under the "Electrical-Switch & Relay" category selected "Back Up Lamp Switch". There are four brands available, I went with the BECK/ARNLEY Part # 2011788, $18.19.

Comes with the washer, bolt on, plug in, fit and works great. Just did 9 days of wheeling in SE Utah, worked every time.

For those of us in the Oceania region the replacement switch is a tridon TRS007.
This is a reverse switch for many models of Toyota.

Just bridge the contacts in the plug ? I think I may need this switch,, tks

Exchange it with one from your lockers or transmission, front locker is easiest.

I got mine at Lordco for $19 I used the napa number to cross and Lordco had the part in the store.
