Just read through the whole thread. Great work. Makes me happy that my tub is in as good shape as it was!

Thank you. A replacement tub was considered. The cost to fix this one was about what it would take to bring in a replacement. Being in OH made it hard to inspect a new tub in person so we decided to fix the original.

A little more progress today. I peeled the rest of the outer rocker off where it was rusted, cleaned up the front side of the main beam, and attempted a test fit of the floor panel. I still need to grind a small amount near the a pillar and it will slide right in.

Wednesday, my dad and I were able to mount the welder to our harbor freight cart with minimal changes.

Tonight I messed around with getting the rocker patch trimmed to fit. I didn't have the cojones to make the final cut. I need to get the floor panel fitted first.

I've yet to see a factory FJ40 color that I don't like. My favorite color is mustard yellow and I'm also a purist so I'd likely stick with the factory color from the VIN plate. Of the FJ's you've seen, is there a color that really pops for you?

BTW...very nice build and I'm enjoying following this thread very much!!

Look at it this way then ... If you stick with the original color you'll look at the FJ and smile every time you walk into the garage, knowing it's the right decision and the two of you (plus wife) will live happily ever after. As your build is bringing the truck back to stock drivetrain I suspect you'll be happiest with the factory color.
