Well I thought this day would never come - the motor and cogbox are finally in the chassis.

Now for the tub. . . .

Sure will get it from the body shop
There will be two as the base coat is a metallic and the topcoat is a clearcoat with a matting agent

Far out Keith, what a big difference . Well done on the rebuild!

Hi Jessie

So do you still recognise it.
as you know, it was a mammoth task

Totally urecogniseable. It looked in sader condition in the pics then I remember. I can't believe it had bent pushrods, it ran so well!. That said though it's one vehicle that I regret parting with.

Hi Keith.

Just followed your progress on both vehicles and ...................WOW the cruiser bug has really bitten.

I have a lot of work in front of me on mine but there will be light at the end of the tunnel.

What a big difference . Well done on the rebuild!

Great Job:steer:

Job well done

Had no idea we had LX's in Saudi.
Guess I will be hunting one down.

Some work has taken place since my last past, but admittedly not a lot, I spent months trying to get an air-con unit that I imported from Brisbane that came out of an Aussie BJ40 to fit the FJ40, but some of the brackets, mountings and pipes were just not available and are far too finnicky to fabricate.

Had to machine up a new threaded pin for one of the front quarter windows.

i am now fitting DYNAMAT to the floor, firewall and inside the doors, as well as fitting the doors, windows and rear body panels, also trying to have new sliding window frame rails made for the rear side windows.

We have a bi-annual Legends Trip trip in South Africa that is reserved for the Land Cruiser legends 40's, 55's only that happens every 2 years, this year it is happening in September, and I am planning to have this truck finished in time to take on this trip, (but if its not finished Ill use Kermit)

LEGENDS TRIP SOUTH AFRICA 2010

Ill put up some pics soon
