Zinc Plating, got a few extra done, what you don't see is the cut and sanded fingers from the wire wheel cleaning.
So soon you forget Grasshopper............Large ones for battery hold down, I cleaned up one extra, BJ 66753 Nut, Wing, 2 per unit, FJ25, FJ25L Small one, F 23301 Nut complete, air cleaner, 1 per unit, FJ25, FJ25Lthe hardware looks great John, remind me again what those wing nuts are for?
There is a plater in Sacramento I took them to, A & A plating 916-442-1063 I cleaned all the used parts first, wire wheel then a soak in lacquer thinner, and they all went in a tumbler. All the new hardware gets dumped right in the drum, took two hours to sort out. Very affordable.Do you have your own zinc plating equipment? Is that affordable and easy?

Old wing nuts John, I've had that sign for? Can't remember. You thru me off with the fourth wing nut. The oil bath air cleaner and battery hold down I knew. Just couldn't place the fourth one. Were the wing nuts new or used ones you had? For some reason these go MIA and are replaced with nuts. Not sure other than my 68 I purchased in 74 that I have any that still had the original battery hold much less the wings nuts.
The project is looking great John, you are inspiring to get some of my honey do list done so I can get started on mine. I am curious how long you have had the yellow Land Cruiser crossing sign outside and how well is it holding up to the weather? Kept mine out of the UV figuring it would just fade away. Old TLCA right?
Update...... picked up the media blasted tub this morning, finish any welding, floating nut plate replacement tomorrow, then get some epoxy primer on it. Then the fun body work starts. Rolling chassis is wrapped up till body work gets moving along. Seat frames and wheels are done at the powder coater. The bad thing is I lost my camera. Have to borrow the wife's. Thank's for the encouraging comments! A & A does not do chrome, I took mine to Sherm's plating in Sacramento 916-646-0160 recognized as the best plater in the nation.

Yellow zinc and silver zinc, Your Toyota parts manual is kinda vague the prefix letter of the fastener designates toe kind of treatment given to the part. Z= plating or other treatment/ Z= anticorrosive treatment. We need someone to tear down a complete 25 and catalog all the finish.
