Yes I do need a template of the bumper lower gusset's, and a vac wiper shaft and the thumb and finger handle.Living in the Past said:John do you still need a picture and drawing of the bottom bumper gussets? I will be at the cabin this weekend and can trace you a drawing of a stock one.

Hey, John Pendle, I do have original upper bumper brackts, Thanks for the warning. I was going to put a factory PTO winch on the OLD FART, but decided. It's a FJ 25, (don't need no stinkin winch) Going hot and heavy on metal fab this week. I still have not found a teacher for the dig camera I bought 3 years ago. I think that I'm just a bad student. JohnLiving in the Past said:John you do know the top bracket for the bumper is a different size then the ones on the FJ40s after 1961? I ask this because if you don't have the right top bracket the bottom one won't work. I found this out when I went to Oregon to pick up my grey FJ25 and found out I had to modify my FJ40 towing bumper to fit a FJ25. You can use the FJ40 brackets to make the ones for the FJ25 it's just shorter. Let me know if you need a pattern for this too. The problem with the FJ25 is the stock PTO winch will not fit the bumper, you have to modify it.

Thanks Mike, FJ not Cj sent me a pattern of the crank bracket. bumper brackets are almost last on the list, all I need is a sketch with dimentions, and 1/2 hour in the garage.foxfab said:I just sent out the crank bracket to the laser cutter.
How fast will you be needing the bumper brackets? I could have those done too. I'm also thinking of having shackles done. I just got the last 6 NOS FJ40 shackles in the USA and of course, the pins are the same but the shackle is different.

Thanks for the offer Mike, With the bumper bracket and crank bracket templates in hand, I can reproduce them faster than writing a check and going to the post office. Johnfoxfab said:Prolly the same bracket that he sent me to copy
I Figure they'll be less than $20 if you wanna hold out.

Kent, Land Cruisers are like fine wine---There not ready before their time, (stall tactics) Put the tub on the frame with an engine 78/4-speed and T/C, I have the original shifters mounted to the later 4-speed, e-brake and in and out of 4wd. I built a copy of a 25's pto lever and it shifts the transfer case from hi to low range, made a slot in the dog house for the shifter, need to make the flip down lock for the shifter. The body and frame is ready to be sand blasted now. The 77 2F engine is at Steve Warden Auto Repair in Placerville for a rebuild. Becky's 67/40 cruiser snuck into the shop for a couple repairs and now is in a million pieces, valve job, booster, m/c, sm420 rebuild, hi-steer, front air locker before Rubithon. My wrenches are put away now, leaving Friday for a Baja 4wd adventure, be back 4/17 mabye photos then.
