Installed a CI TROA Soft Top today. 4 weeks from eBay order to custom build to arriving at my doorstep from Columbia. Fit and finish was good out of the box, really impressed after install. Still need to do the twist locks on the side.

I'm quite interested in your results, here. Keep us posted on how it works out. Those are real steel hoops?
I’ll definitely keep updating. Those are OEM soft top hoops. Just lived a hard life. 😂

That looks beautiful. Absolutely what I hope I can build mine into. Do they have a slightly darker brown soft top color too?
The only 3 colors they offered were khaki, black, and green. Never hurts to ask though.

Winter time maintenance in effect. Decided to tear down the intake and exhaust manifolds to fix lingering leaks and install the SOR headers that have been sitting in my garage since the summer.
Cutoff the exhaust down pipe, found the attaching collar hanging on by a thread.

No,… I did not cut that.

Test fit the headers after cleaning up the side of the block. Found the brake line junction was touching the header, the brake shield will not work with these headers as well. I unbolted the brake bracket and moved to the top of the frame and angled away from the header.

Blasted the intake manifold and installed the headers using a Remflex gasket. Installed SOR’s SS oil lines. Next up will be installing the Y pipe and cleaning up the oil filter housing, then re-installing the Carb, etc…

Only took 4 months, but finally took it in to get the rest of the exhaust installed. New muffler and tailpipe fitted to the SOR Y pipe (slight modification to the end of the pipe was necessary).

Just prior to this I was stumped on why I was having a stumble off idle. Found I was using manifold vacuum to the DUI which severely advanced timing when just idling. Since the 73 doesn’t have ported vacuum, I just capped the dissy and am using the mechanical advance. Runs like a top. 12 deg, 16.5” vacuum, 675 rpm idle.

Looks awesome!!! Love the FST on blue. Patina takes it over the top!!!

For continuity sake, last week I had the cracked windshield pulled by a local mobile company and they used it as a template to cut a new one. Reinstalled with new OEM gasket.

When you painted the trans tunnel, do you remember if you got an aerosol or mixed and sprayed paint?

I went with what’s pictured below. If I had to do it over, I’d probably grab a vent door, polish it up, then take it to get color matched in spray cans. The Capri vs. horizontal blue vs 50 year old paint mystery. Since I painted most of the interior, just went with it.

Stripped the rear bumper and painted it, added new lights and reflectors. Took off the janky self made hitch mount and added an OEM step. Finally got a spare tire and mounted it. Plastidip’d the fender flares from white to black, filled in a bunch of the cracks. Will paint the bumperette’s and rim next go around.

I'm not sure whether you have the glass for this light. If you don't, I thought I would share what the PO did as a temporary fix. He found a fog light lens that would fit in the housing and made trim piece out of thin metal. This temporary repair has since been replaced with a OEM glass lens. :)
