With the spring (coilover) that far inboard, it's not going to be able to control the wheel very well. You're going to get excess articulation movement that the coilover won't be able to do anything about, and you'll have to run a much stiffer spring rate because of the extra leverage.

I'd stick to the outside and get the coilover as close to the frame as possible. You might need to notch the frame.

Well I have made the decision to do the rear suspension with the coil overs on the outside of the frame like it was originally on the Fj40 frame I started with. I may have to notch it but that is fine. With them on the inside of the frame, I would definitely get more articulation but really didn't like that design. Ben at Filthy Motorsports said that it really doesn't matter how far you lean them, they will still work. All be it I would have to adjust for spring rates. I even looked at doing a cantilever suspension but don't have the room at the rear. That kind of suspension has the coilers laying down completely flat and you get a ton of articulation.

So outside of the frame it will be.
 
well I decided to do something a little different today. Got the dash cut out for the stereo and the AC vents.

Biggest question now. I went to late model doors due to them being free from a good friend. They have been body worked and ready for paint. Has anyone here put late model doors on an early model tub? Trying to figure out how to place the loop catch on the B-pillar. Kind of like this guy did
