Massive pads compared to stockers.... these will pair nicely with the rotors in post #50. They are sized to stop a vehicle with a GVWR of over 14k pounds. Now on to designing a caliper to hold them... real brakes with huge capacity that fit under 15" wheels? Yeah, we can do that.

This keeps getting better and better. Looking forward to seeing what you cook up.

Subscribed! Really Rad build. Looking forward to the immense braking performance. Thanks @red66toy for the thread share.

Good stuff!
I have a couple of questions as a person looking to replicate some of this down the line:
Are you going to be designing your own caliper or making a bracket to fit an existing one?
Do you have a line on a supplier of bellhousing parts to adapt this engine (W04/1W) to a H series transmission?

Glad you guys are enjoying it!

I will be designing my own caliper. Nothing off the shelf exists that is appropriate for this tight application... This 15" kit has grown out of my development work on kits for the 100 and 200 Series with 16 or 17" wheels. A 17" wheel will take a 360mm x 36mm rotor.

The engine to trans bellhousing adapter will be designed and built so it can be duplicated and and sold to those that want to do this conversion.

Did you decide on a h series or r series transmission? Or are you making adapters for both?

Really nice work. Looking forward to see the development of this.

What options do you have available on rotors/calipers for 6x5.5 on 16” or 17” wheels?

The options that are developing are pretty basic right now. Modified stock calipers and eventually calipers that will hold these larger pads. Rotor diameter can be from 300 up to 360. A 330 mm might sneak under some 16" rims.

A transmission and transfer case choice has been made, due to supposed availability... now let's see if they actually come through with the delivery. An H150F and an HF1A. Both new.

They are still both available from Toyota-- Just orders 5 of each for a client recently.

Are you going to be making the adaptor for the transmission to the block Brian?

Thanks, good to hear!

Yes, some sort of adapter will be made... though the starter cutout in the bellhousing is in the wrong spot (possibly a good spot for someone wanting a manual trans behind a 1UZ). So we'll have to see if a different bellhousing will be required. The input shaft is super long.
