Not the best pictures of the hood but you can see it. I used a foam roller so there is very little texture on the hood.

yikes, I'd hate to be stuck in the middle of that puddle...

Great job on your build!
I have a question on plating to add strength, were any additional crossmember needed besides the plates showing in post 13?

I didn't add any cross members. The only additional plating was done to the inside of the frame since you have to cut into the engine mounts. I took a quick picture to show what I mean.

My 80, bumpers front and rear, sliders, 1/2" skid plate, on 39.5 iroks with a spare and a ton of recovery gear in the rear, weighed in at 6750lbs. The 100 series may have that little tag stating a curb weight, but it's definitely much heavier than an 80 series, especially once you start adding a bunch of armor and gadgets. Maybe someone has weighed theirs after outfitting it as described?

So after the discussion about my 100 being uh.......... big boned, I decided to put her on the scale today and see how much weight she has gained. That weight does include everything on the 100 with the 37" spare and me sitting in the 100. I tried to get a picture of just the front end on the scale but could not get one in focus (front half on the scale was 2,880 lbs).

The ORI STX struts on my 100 are rated @ 1,900 lbs per strut. The older version of the struts, the ST are rated at 1,300 lbs.

Great! Now my 80 looks like a fat pig:D

Nice job on keeping her slim

With all of the suspension finished I was ready to pull it out of the garage. That is when I got the dreaded click......click from the starter. Nothing like finishing up a major project only to have to jump right into another. I pulled the starter out and took it to a local shop to have it rebuilt.

After installing the rebuilt starter, I was getting a horrible grinding noise when running. AGAIN the intake manifold came off only to find when they rebuilt the starter they made the drive gear to long (left).

Since I had the manifold off I thought I would do some cleaning up.

I was inspecting all of the parts and noticed that the o rings on the injectors were a little dry.

With the a new starter, clean intake and o rings it was back running and ready to get rinsed off.

How are you so light? I'm well north of 7k.

I wish I could have weighted it after the swap just for comparison. I would be surprised if it weighted any more doing the SAS.

Just adding things up in my head:

The bigger tires probably added 200 lbs
Front hybrid bumper is maybe 100 lbs
10k Winch 60 lbs
Rear bumper 150 lbs
Sliders 100 lbs

610 lbs? minus the weight I took off (bumpers, third row seats, running boards and some scrap metal ie: spare tire carrier)

I should note that I had minimal tools and recovery gear in the back.

Took it out yesterday for a trail run and thoroughly tested the bumpers, sliders and GM one ton steering. I also decreased my gas tank capacity a little with the big rock in front of the 100.

Does anyone make a 100 gas tank skid?

I took it through Jake. It went really well until I slid off that rock.
