That looks great! I contacted them about the rack with the TEQ and it's a liscense issue they don't want to get into. Still think I might get one though. Love your rtt rack on your trailer too. I'll probably pm you about it to not thread hijack.

Nice find @Box Rocket thanks for the info

I kinda wondered. My wife and I were getting a laugh over his show

How much of a lip is there on the rack? I'm wanting to use a Hard Shell tent and I've been told that a lip will cause problems for securing the tent...

Love the design...

Thanks,

J

Here's the best photos I have at the moment to show any lip. It's maybe 1/4" at most. I'm not sure why a Hard Shell tent would have any issues? Most will not extend beyond the edge of the rack.

Adam,

Thanks and agree if they do not extend past.. Unfortunately the width on the James Baroud is 55".... It would seem that would then sit on the outer rails and when you would tighten down it would pull in from the center and crack the hard shell.

I'm not as familiar with the JB tents. Are there not any mounting "rails" on the base of the tent? Or does it just attach directly through the fiberglass? Most all tents I've seen have some kind of rail on the base that are typically about 1" tall which would easily clear the lip on the Prinsu Rack.

Not sure, but I'll have to ask...

Here is a pic I found -

how's the wind noise with this rack? just wondering if the front wind deflector being that close to the metal causes a whistle or not? really love the low profile look of it!
I had the rack off the truck the other day and I have had no discernible change in wind noise with or without the rack on the truck. In talking with Zach who built the racks, he has found that the farther back from the front of the windshield you can put the front of the rack, the quieter it is. Mine is roughly 4" or so back from the edge of the windshield.

They are backed ordered for a while, mine won't ship till the 29th.

Being so low and with wind deflector I would think it's very quiet. Even the 4 inch tall basket I had with no wind deflector didn't really get loud until 70mpg. But it costed me 1mpg for sure, hope this one won't cost me any mpg lost.

Worst case you use some 1/4" spacers strips.

I think it's the best looking rack out there. Wouldn't let this deter me.
