Went to a truck and tractor show ... I was hoping to not embarrass the toyota community with my garbage :)

Lots of old steel ... Practically every make of USA old truck... Willys... Power wagons... Military... Fire trucks.... Lots and lots of different makes

And...

One japanese truck lol

Lots of questions... I saw three past owners of cruiser... All of which said "I wish I still had that truck" :)

Thought of the early cruiser crew when I saw how many turn signals they had in the parts swap area...

No toyota parts... Not even a button or patch lol

A plug to Pierce Winch Co. ... I called and asked if they had a part number for the winch info sticker located on top of the winch ... The sticker has changed over the years ... My old one was more industrial looking :)

He sent me free of charge a new winch sticker and several pierce window stickers... Nice service for sure!

My winch has been going strong for 16-17? Years... Great winch

Took the cruiser out for an hour drive to Vermont ... Hemmings motor news museum (free) and Bennington monument ... Love this history stuff

Had a picnic in the shadow of the monument which was great until the complaints about the bugs... They move out at 18 sometimes right lol

Great ride and sights

My wife likes Boylan and I love the Moxie :) something wonderful about the two being drank together both being Victorian Era soda brands ... Nostalgia!

:)

Can't do the beer on the fender anymore ... Doesn't mix well with me anymore :( ... But... I can do favorate sodas :)

Did notice the power steering leak getting much worse now... Good thing I see a thread about rebuilding lol

@Tetanus ... You weren't home ... Farm looks great... Fam looks great... Junior was there ! Great to see Junior ( @fourlow&go ) miss ya bud !

We need to get together for some Moxie ... And what ever you guys are drinking these days... The pile of cans was big... Molson? :)

Cool old pics. Yeah it took me a while to get used to Jr's clean cut look. You'll have to get out to FG next year for sure. I can't wait for next week. I think my mind is already at Field and Forest.

Rainy day... Had to have the canvas on the trailer to deliver a lazyboy ... Use it when ever I get the chance ... If it doesn't get used it has no use (as per my wife lol )

For those who may be seeing this trailer for the first time it is a 1954 David Bradley trailer soldby sears... A stout little thing ... If you ever see one cheap ... Snag it :)

Checking out the truck prior to getting inspection... Love that ol' bumper jack... While it was up lubed it good ... Including the leaf springs with the trusty stop squeak lubricator :)

Keep it in the green vinyl toyota roll with the tire spoons

Never seen a tool like that before Johnny where did you pick that up? Grease in the spring could help with squeaks. Rust like having to deal vehicle inspection are a non issue in AZ. Phoenix and Tucson areas only need to pass emission and your good. Rest of the state don't even need that. Since retiring and not driving in rush hour traffic I miss seeing all the vehicle that have been in a accident and repaired so poorly the front and real wheels aren't in line anymore so the vehicle looks like it driving down the road at a angle.:bang::meh:

@Living in the Past

In my area it is safety inspection only no emissions ... but... When living on Long Island it was emissions (hated inspection time of year)

About the 'Stop-Squeak Lubricator'

My Father at one time was a trucker...he used it on his rigs

This tool he got when he worked for Grumman ....in the early 60's long ago...he has a few odd aviation tools...however...i dont think this tool was aviation specific

he took a ride in my truck the day i bought it...he gave it to me the next day Good old Dad quietly making it known... Fix it lol

The grease gun coupler extension made by Herbrand ... 'Van-Chrome' #198

They list is as a 'Stop-Squeak Lubricator' for springs

by the type of block letters its from the early 1950's... one of my favorite tools

I missed out my father was a salesman and didn't have much in the way of tools to pass down to me. But my grandfather on my mother's side was a retired tool and die maker back in Wisconsin. I was still in my teens living in Oregon when he died. Of the three son in-laws and three grandsons I was the only tool guy who would have used his tools. They were probably sold for cheap at a garage sale.:bang:

Just checked out your build... love how much you use and love your Cruiser. With all the history stuff you've posted I half-expected your rig to be a down-to-the-rivet purist resto. Glad to see you're a long time owner that enjoys his 40 to the fullest. And inspiration to a newb 40-owner like me.

.....I half-expected your rig to be a down-to-the-rivet purist resto.......

I am a purist at heart LOL

but... I understand that they are our trucks and our trucks are a mirror of ourselves... I would love to do a full restoration but life and road salt are a huge hindrance LOL

Thanks for the comments :)

I do run a small weight on the seam side of the rim... but... honestly I think it would still balance

the only time a rim was not able to balance is when i got T-boned on my front rim by a guy going about 25mph... it had a slight wobble to it :) he was totaled
