I just went through this complete thread. Very cool how you transformed that cruiser Johnny. Also, really like your trailer. Being from New York you must get up to the Appalachians / Adirondacks with your cruiser? Nice country out there.

Thanks FjFjFj the cruiser has been thru so many transformations... this latest look is going to stay for some time... the trailer has been great.... and some what of a period correct one at that 1954...

Just up with the cruiser to lake george ... we camp in and around that area always fun :) not much wheeling (legally) lots of old stoping grounds are closed or developed :meh:

Summer is winding down for me... Last part of summer I take time to camp and visit family... My father has a keen eye...

Most of you cruiser heads have multiple cruisers... Well my kids have more cruisers than me as well... Dad found this being thrown out down the block :)

My kids and I did some cleaning ... Cleaned the switches ... And new battery

Just needs a resto like the other one... I think this will be a fire engine cruiser LOL

I have been using the splits for well over 15 yrs... It's my DD .... probably 150,000 miles+ on splits.... Soooo .... Myth :)

Splits are the norm in AU

For balancing I use equal tire balancer .... Have a tire truck place by me that does it.... Have had the same balancing powder from day one... One tube I replaced since and cut it open and time stakingly got them in the stem of the new tube LOL

Would have been easyer to just get the new tube filled with it.... But.... I'm Frugal :)

There are centrifugal weights that go between the rim and axle that looked promising as well... But... A bit more $$$ but also can reuse them

Air leakage?

Sad day... Eiji Toyoda passed away... He lived a long and fruitful life just over 100 yrs to the day

RIP Mr. Toyoda

wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eiji_Toyoda

He lived by the principles set forth by his cousin Kiichiro Toyoda

"Five Main Principles of Toyoda":

1. Always be faithful to your duties, thereby contributing to the Company and to the overall good.
2. Always be studious and creative, striving to stay ahead of the times.
3. Always be practical and avoid frivolousness.
4. Always strive to build a homelike atmosphere at work that is warm and friendly.
5. Always have respect for God, and remember to be grateful at all times.

Been without a radio for some time... Got one step closer by adding a speaker :)

As you can imagine I struggled with where to put a speaker ... Had this one sooooo it kinda fit the utilitarian 'look' :)

Just need to drop the heater and hook up my other radio

My oem radio had died an old water leak corroded the board on the inside beyond repair :(

Had this dual knobbie at the parents house... Gave it a toyota look as I did with the speaker... I will install sometime before I'm 90

Looks really cool, incredible job! Hopefully by next year when I visit my parents near you I will have a 40 of my own to drive up :)!

I like the 5 main principles of Toyoda.

yes.... arent they great... originally pen'd by Kiichiro and Risaburo Toyoda but are life lessons taught from Sakichi Toyoda. They were written at the 5th anniversary of Sakichi's death and handed down ever since as a guideline for employee conduct .... and were actually revealed to all on this very day 78 years ago (10/30/1935)

Thanks... a work in progress for 20 years .... and just when you think your done... you think of new and exciting ways to mess it all up :D

There are several cruiser heads up this way.... sometime a get together would be in order

Broke down and got a tail pipe from SOR... could not get anybody near me to bend pipe... what is the world coming to?

Went to jiffy lube and had my inspection... in the door and out 12 minuted... got to love safety only inspections $10 :)

kudos

Wow....great thread! Read the entire thing today, and amazing results...Appreciate you taking the time to post it all! I am a praying man as well, and will certainly keep your family in my prayers...Earlier in your build, you mentioned using something called tsp, I think it was for prepping the metal before you were painting...obviously I'm not an experienced body guy, but what is tsp??

Thank you for the complement and prayers :)

Yes I used tsp (trisodium phosphate ) to clean off all the oils and gunk from the metal

I would suggest you do not use the acid majic that I used... It was easy to use however it did create a lot of flash rust that lead to more prep work later

The TSP can be bought at true value ... Ace ... And Home Desperate

It works good and is cheap :)
