Lucy's is still in Shamian Island

Is that another spelling for Xiamen? (pronounced sha-men) If so my wife was working in an orphanage there giving relief to the regular workers over the Chinese new year in January. She worked mostly with special needs infants and it was as much a blessing to her as to the regular workers. Our fridge is loaded with pictures of those children.

no thats a different area...there is a popular island off the coast of xiamen china...but not the same place.

shamain island in Guangzhou is known as the adoption town of Guangzhou...or orphan island or baby island....many adoptive families go there...or at least used to for cheap shopping and cool sites...

God Bless your wife...it is truley heart breaking to see some orphanages...and even worse to see how some of the forster families live...they really make due with what they got...both our daughters were special needs...tell your wife thank you

interesting vehicles in china

good thing we got out when we did...with all that bejing-usa back and forth...it cant be too good for the adoption seen.

every so often we saw a guard and police were out and about at all times...kinda made you feel safe...and not safe at the same time

Bad Radiator...do you think? LOL

My truck wasnt quite cooling the way it used to...it used to hang out at the 1st slash mark on the oem guage...recently its been right at the 1/2 mark.

A friend suggested i replace it quite some time ago...it was seaping on the top and he said the fins were soft...he fixed the seaping....so i thought it was good...

however 3 years later I just replaced the radiator with a radiator barn one...this is a picture of what the old one looked like LOL

Do you think this radiator is shot :D

But in the desert the finns don't disappear like that.

Most things metal eventually disappear in the upper north east :D

I also replaced the rear diff cover gasket (thanks Kurt ;) ) really if you think about it... If it didn't leak oil all over the place... All the metal would go away

:D

well it looks like the life expectancy of a cleaned fuse block is about 15 years...had some issues last few days and had to pull it and clean it up all over again...hate doing things twice :D

on a plus side...i was helping my kids do a rehab on their cruiser...i think they decided to stay with the OEM yellow...i know how you all feel about petina...however...it is their truck...and i couldn't talk them out of painting it...

the body on this thing is really good...not a rust hole....ANYWHERE ! :meh:

they are going a little deaper into their pockets on this one...a frame off !! :D

need to take a look at the steering for my little guy... he said... "it doesnt look quite right" ...and then also said .... "at least we would be able to get away going this way or that way very fast with it like that" :steer:

Could use a lift over that stock suspension

Could use a lift over that stock suspension

Would love to find tall skinnys so they can get rid of the stock fender flares... Those things are just ... Tree finders :)

However I think we'll be stuck with suspension and tires for quite awhile... It's just not in their budget right now :)

Yeah toe in adjustment is necessary... We'll work on that after the body is back from "Daddy Body Shop" LOL

the quickto resto extended to my kids land cruiser :)

fixed the steering issue...and...had to clean/rebuild the switches...alil paint and waallla...had some old small licence plates laying around...and an old emblem :)

Its lawn legal LOL...missing a mirror and tailight...but...not too worried about getting pulled over :D
