Craigslist in Alexandria. It is cool. Newest it could be is 1908!!
@OTRAMM You will have some fun with that!!!!
What motor?! That thing was likely made to be driven by two mules or a water wheel.
Ryan, that thing going to be able to take a stock u joint collar down so we can weld in some DOM tube?
Diameter wise yes it'll fit a drive shaft. Lengthwise it's limited to about 3 feet. So I'll be able to turn the actual ends down but may not be able to get the entire driveshaft in to check run out.
It is this way on the V8 diesels also.
Good time to clean up and reseal the intake anyway...
That's a pretty big lathe... must be a pretty big motor to turn 12" steel.
Managed to flush my cooling system, changed the PHH , changed the fan clutch to blue and I should be finishing my drawers installation today. I,ve never got so many bruises and cuts on my hands in a long time
I built some drawers the other day. 3/4 birch play, roller ball sliders, and tube slam locks. I was going to cover them in grey carpet, but my dimensions are too perfect. I had to almost hammer fit them between the wheel wells.
40" x 30" x 12"
My 285/75/16 treadwrights should be in tomorrow too.
Wait till you have to change out the radio antenna! I never want to do that again.
When time comes, I'm pretty sure it will be replaced by a flexible model .
You still have to pull the cable through the firewall
Damn those drawers look awesome!!!!!
Just finished. A bit of a pain, especially when you are missing bolts, but is all finished now. So far pretty happy with the results.
Got a stand and new motor mount built for the lathe. It works!!
Looks safe enough to me.
Wow! Better keep close tabs on where you are putting your hands when operating that thing or we're gonna be calling you Stumpy, before too long.
