AAA is great to have. I got it when I had my 80 and still keep it just in case. Plus the discounts you can get with hotels, rentals, airfare and other things helps too

Is it all levels that include the 100 mile free tow?

The level of service varies with the membership level and possibly with state and county. Anna and I are PLUS members which they call the best value and the annual membership fee for both of us is $121. They also affair premier membership which gives you one 200 mile tow job and three tows of up to 100 miles each year. Around here AAA membership also gets a 10% discount at NAPA stores- I used that discount last year when buying the two new batteries for my 40. I wouldn't be without it.

Premier RV member here because they wouldn't tow my Ford E350 van under my normal policy. I've also heard of members getting turned down by drivers because of "35"+ tires", so take it for what it's worth. And, technically, they're not supposed to tow vehicles without a current registration. YMMV.

My USAA has towing included twice a year not sure what the miles are. But towed my F250 from Rouch to Winchester.

In Manassas VA area. Looking to join Capital Land Cruiser Club. Are the monthly meetings still be held in these COVID days? I just started working on a 1971 FJ40 complete tear down to frame and am scrambling to find as much information and ideas from folks much more knowledgeable than I am...

Wanted to show you guys my current favorite tool.

It’s Tekton’s 18 inch 3/8 non-quick-release ratchet. It has plenty of reach and leverage, and the slim design allows it to fit into tight spaces. I opted for the non-quick-release version because it’s thinner all around.

It worked great for reaching up into the bell housing to remove the clutch and bell housing bolts.

Dammm! I'm gonna have to ask them why they always tell me that only the first 7 miles are free. Almost 30 years of getting my money...you'd think they'd treat me better...maybe at your level.

If I remember right it can vary from state to state. I believe with Gieco, you get a longer free tow if youre in VA than in MD.

Maybe next weekend. It is in storage, just needs to be brought home. I have a gantry crane that needs to get set up too.

Anyone hear from @Stumpalama recently? Know he had the move going down but haven’t seen him here in several fortnights.
